He had just proposed a few minutes earlier as the sun came out from behind the clouds. Obviously she said "yes" or we wouldn't have continued taking pictures. Somehow, the cherry blossoms were still in bloom despite torrential downpours a few days earlier. All in all, I would say things lined up quite nicely!

From custom kicks to sharp suits and street pretzels, this City Hall wedding has a lot of style and heart. No, we didn't reserve a private car on the subway...but it looks like we did! Always happy to help out my Astoria friends

Do you want your photos to reflect real emotions? The greatest thing I strive for when photographing people is authenticity. I will prompt instead of posing, and guide where necessary (e.g. "Move your arm down just a little bit!") because I want you to look back at your photos in 20 years and think, "Wow, Casey really captured who we are!" instead of "Why did the photographer pose us like that?"

This is one of the first engagement photos I ever took, back in the late 1900s, outside the Plaza Hotel. This was before I even started photographing weddings. It may not be technically perfect, but it conveys so much authentic emotion that I still love it to this day.

A little sneak peek from last weekend's wedding at Seven Hills Inn up in the Berkshires. A truly lovely couple and an amazing celebration. Did I tear up during the ceremony? Yes. There was mention of time travel and finding each other in whatever timeline and it tugged at my nerdy heart strings. More from this wedding over on Insta!

I love a good first look. Not only do you get a chance to have a moment just between the two of you, we also get to take our time doing portraits before the ceremony. Which means you get to enjoy your cocktail hour and reception without having to worry about getting those must have portraits.
