Modern Manhattan 🌃 How we achieved the look.

A breakdown of our design considerations:

Along with Tantawanbloom Wedding & Events] we created a 4 poster 5ft. acrylic structure to be placed inbetween the columns around the room. We wanted these 4 pieces to stand out amongst the rest symbolizing the magnificence of NYC, the skyscrapers as well as capture the height of Cipriani Wall Street. To me, floral samples are non-negotiable. It’s so important to see how your floral designer interprets your inspiration. I’m seeing my clients demand more and more photo inspo, design decks and mood boards from perspective florists to understand the size of their arrangements and to understand the scale of their weddings. It is almost impossible for a florist to give an accurate proposal based off one photo and by trying to duplicate a look. Every wedding and event is different, with unique styles and themes and the options for linens, tableware, rentals, etc. are endless.

I recommend investing in a floral sample with your event designer & florist so you can see what you’re receiving, look at all the various rental options that fit your overall style and see how the look comes together before the wedding day. We are designing several social events / dinner parties for next year and we couldn’t be more excited! We love when our clients give us complete design freedom and ask us to create a totally unique experience for them. This baby shower was one of our favorite event experiences to create. Meet the Founders of Event Designer NYC] 🥳💕

Paul and I started LLG the day after our wedding. We sat at the kitchen table and said how can we do this all over again? How can we emulate the feeling of our wedding for other couples? How can we do this better?

2 months later we incorporated LLG - my initials Lauren Lomnicki Grech and we started our first company. We worked every event we could at Oheka Castle and learned the world of hospitality, luxury, and high-end weddings. We observed, we listened, we were there for every load in, up until the load out. We stayed up even after the event, sometimes until 3-4:00am, to review the event with our mentor, taking notes of all the mistakes and how to prevent or correct them.

Planning an event right now is hard.. expect long hours, hundreds of emails a week, dozens of meetings a day, lots of anxiety & uncertainty surrounding safety, guest counts, budgets, and the list goes on.

It’s nearly impossible to go from 0–>100 overnight and expect the same turn around and attention you were getting pre pandemic. Supply chains are low, labor is hard to find, vendors are short staffed, and we have ALOT on our plates across hundreds of events. And It’s only going to get harder on planners as we try to keep up with the demand.

Still obsessing over this floral staircase we conceptualized with Louis Konstantinos] We wanted to make a statement and have a photo moment that stayed throughout the entire wedding. It was romantic, ethereal and a show stopper. When designing for a photo op, you want to consider 3 things:
• is this something guests can easily see/access throughout the evening? - you want to get the most for your money right?! Make sure your photo moment is in a noticeable location! This was right next to the photo booth and the bathrooms! ✔️
• Enhance what’s naturally there - it’s so important to highlight the beauty of the venue without taking away from it. ✔️
• Make sure your photo op ties into the overall design of the event with the same florals, textures and patterns you’re using for your centerpieces. This will create unity and cohesiveness amongst your event spaces ✔️

A few weeks ago we traveled to Sonoma County, California to execute a very special wedding, our 3rd annual pro-bono wedding.

Meredith and Matt had quite the year. Between postponing their wedding, Matt finding his long lost family and Meredith’s diagnosis with breast cancer in December 2020, they needed a miracle. After paying deposits for their wedding vendors in 2019, Meredith’s cancer diagnosis meant surmounting medical bills for chemotherapy treatment, fertility treatment and a long road to recovery.

I always believe that our pro-Bono weddings find us and this was no exception. One day in our hello account I found Meredith’s email asking if we were hosting another pro-Bono wedding and seeing if she could nominate herself. After COVID I thought our pro-bono weddings might be over and that vendors having struggled so much in 2020 might not be able to help. I immediately connected with this couple and their story. We had 4 months to either waive their final payments, ask vendors for their generous support, and find new vendors for photo, video, transportation, wig donation, and more. We were up for the challenge!

On July 10th 2021 Meredith and Matt were married, surrounded by so much love, their family, friends and of course the LLG team. We are honored to announce this years pro-Bono wedding and are grateful to every single vendor and team member who came to their rescue. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your beyond generous donations of your services, teams, and products, we cannot do this without you!!

Hello hello!! I wanted to re-introduce myself as we have so many new friends here!! I’m Lauren Grech founder and principal designer . I’m also a tech founder , contributing author to , , , AND, an professor teaching Event Design and Production! My life is seriously insane but I love every second of it.

I started this company when I was 23 with my hubby Paul after I fell in love with weddings. Since then, I have turned this into an international event planning and design firm creating parties all over the world. I could not have done this alone, and I had so many amazing vendors, clients, partners who helped me along the way. I learned A LOT about planning and designing weddings in NYC and also by executing events in other destinations and I love sharing it with you.

As NYC and the world begins to open up, I’m also starting to share more and more about me, my team, our event designs but also the latest in luxury - travel, hotels, fashion, and hospitality. I started writing for Guest of a Guest to dish on all things weddings but also exclusive new event spaces, preferred vendors, planner tips, cool vibe hotels and more.

I live for what I do and I’m so lucky I get to work at my dream job every day with some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. I’m so passionate about this industry and I cannot wait to continue sharing it with you!!

Why hire an event designer?

First off, let me tell you how OCD I was about this lighting install. It took over 16 hours to create these blocks of lighting and an overnight load in with a full team. We HAD to be ready for the 8:00am wedding day load in for 275 guests. We were bringing everything in - all the tables, chairs, linens, florals, bars, every item was loading in from 4 different rental companies in order to get the perfect product for the bride’s vision.

I remember checking in on the install around 2:00am and they were about half way done with the room. I was definitely worried and my anxiety did not let me sleep at all that night. I asked for hourly updates and check-ins and pictures of their progress to make sure it had the exact tightness, symmetry, and measurements that we coordinated at our final walk-through.

When I walked in at 8:00am, it was perfect and we were doing a lighting check before the rentals arrived 👌🏻

The prettiest moments do not happen by accident, they are created by hundreds of event professionals making sure everything is perfect before we show to our client.

When she came to us she had a very specific vision that she wanted to make sure we could create. We love a color coordinated bridal party with all different dress styles. This look has gotten more popular over the years. Pro tip: we recommend picking up paint swatches from your local hardware store to ensure everyone mixes the right color combos 🤍💙

What do you think of clear chairs with colored cushions? Too much color or just right?? 🤔

If incorporated the right way, I think using colored cushions can add just enough color and can complement the tabletop decor. We opted to create custom cushion covers to match the table runner and linens.
