WISDOM, IT’S BETTER THAN GETTING TASED
1. REMEMBER YOUR CREATOR (1,6)
Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. v1
Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, v6
be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 6.12
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15.5
2. REDEEM THE TIME (1,7)
before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” v1
For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. v7
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Ephesians 5.15-17
3. FEAR GOD (13)
The end of the whole matter let us hear: -- 'Fear God, and keep His commands, for this is the whole of man. (YLT)
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111.10
4. KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS (13)
The end of the whole matter let us hear: -- 'Fear God, and keep His commands, for this is the whole of man. (YLT)
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22.37-40

JUST A LITTLE PATIENCE
REPUTATION IS BETTER THAN AROMA
A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume. 1a
2. THE DAY YOU DIE IS BETTER THAN THE DAY YOU WERE BORN
And the day you die is better than the day you are born. 1b
3. A FUNERAL IS BETTER THAN A PARTY
Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies—so the living should take this to heart. 2
4. SORROW IS BETTER THAN LAUGHTER
Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us. 3
5. GETTING CHEWED OUT BY SOMEONE SMART IS BETTER THAN A COMPLIMENT FROM A MORON.
Better to be criticized by a wise person than to be praised by a fool. 5

ECCLESIASTES- THE PREACHER
IF YOU’RE GONNA BE DUMB, YOU BETTER BE TOUGH
1. SHUT UP AND LISTEN (1-2)
As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God. Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5.1-2
2. DON’T MAKE PROMISES YOU CAN’T KEEP (3-7)
Don’t let your mouth make you sin. And don’t defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and he might wipe out everything you have achieved. Ecclesiastes 5.6
3. TRUST GOD THROUGH INJUSTICE AND UNCERTAINTY (8-12)
Don’t be surprised if you see a poor person being oppressed by the powerful and if justice is being miscarried throughout the land. For every official is under orders from higher up, and matters of justice get lost in red tape and bureaucracy. Ecclesiastes 5.8-12
4. WEALTH IS MEANINGLESS (13-17)
We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us. Ecclesiastes 5.15
5. FIND MEANING IN GOD’S GIFTS AND PURPOSES (18-20)
Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. Ecclesiastes 5.18
ECCLESIASTES- THE PREACHER BETTER OFF DEAD

BETTER OFF DEAD
WITHOUT GOD, LIFE IS FULL OF DISCOMFORT… AND WORSE!
Again, I observed all the oppression that takes place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed, with no one to comfort them. The oppressors have great power, and their victims are helpless. Ecclesiastes 4.1
Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other. Zechariah 7.10
Those who oppress the poor insult their Maker, but helping the poor honors him. Proverbs 14.31
So I concluded that the dead are better off than the living. 3But most fortunate of all are those who are not yet born. For they have not seen all the evil that is done under the sun. Ecclesiastes 4.2-3
2. WITHOUT GOD, LIFE IS FULL OF JEALOUSY… AND WORSE!
Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind. Ecclesiastes 4.4
Anger is cruel, and wrath is like a flood, but jealousy is even more dangerous. Proverbs 27.4
“Fools fold their idle hands, leading them to ruin.” And yet, “Better to have one handful with quietness than two handfuls with hard work and chasing the wind.”” Ecclesiastes 4.5-6
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4.11-13
Ecclesiastes – THE PREACHER LIFE WITHOUT GOD HAS NO PURPOSE
Ecclesiastes – THE PREACHER
LIFE WITHOUT GOD HAS NO PURPOSE
1. LIFE WITHOUT PURPOSE IS USELESS
“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. Ecclesiastes 1.2-4
You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. Psalm 39.5-6
2. LIFE WITHOUT PURPOSE IS TIRING
The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Ecclesiastes 1.5-7
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11.28-30
3. LIFE WITHOUT PURPOSE IS UNFULFILLING
Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. Ecclesiastes 1.8-10
For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107.9
4. LIFE WITHOUT PURPOSE IS INSIGNIFICANT
We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. Ecclesiastes 1.11
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the s

John 21.15-17
1. PUBLIC AFFIRMATION IS IMPORTANT
After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” (15)
I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15.15-17
2. FAILURE IS NOT FINAL
After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. (15)
As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. I will be patient as the LORD punishes me, for I have sinned against him. But after that, he will take up my case and give me justice for all I have suffered from my enemies. The LORD will bring me into the light, and I will see his righteousness. Micah 7.7-9
3. LOVE IS THE BASIS OF SERVICE
Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. (16)
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5.13-14
4. PRIORITIZE YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS ABOVE ALL ELSE
Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” (17b)
Jesus replied, “‘Yo

1. JESUS CAN CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE
Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus. Peter exclaimed, “Lord, it’s wonderful for us to be here! If you want, I’ll make three shelters as memorials —one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” (1-4)
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Colossians 3.2
2. GOD GIVES A SPECIFIC DIRECTION
But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.” (5)
As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands. Psalm 119.143
3. FIND HUMILITY BEFORE IT FINDS YOU
The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground. (6)
Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor. Proverbs 29.23
4. JESUS KNOWS WHEN WE NEED ENCOURAGEMENT
Then Jesus came over and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” And when they looked up, Moses and Elijah were gone, and they saw only Jesus. (7-8)
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41.10
THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS PEACE IS AT THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS
THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS
PEACE IS AT THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS
“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2.14
1. WHO IS THIS PEACE FOR? ALL WHO BELIEVE
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5.1
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Psalm 119.165 KJV
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26.3
2. WHERE DOES PEACE COME FROM? RECONCILIATION WITH GOD
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1.19-22
3. WHAT'S YOUR PLAN FOR PEACE?
ACCEPT HIS PEACE
SHARE HIS PEACE WITH OTHERS
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5.18-21
