Rosita’s Cocina Storefront Update ‼️

I appreciate everyone’s patience with this incredible project—it’s been a long journey! Just when we had everything in place and were ready to open, we hit a major issue that set us back. Now, we’re working as quickly as possible to get everything in compliance.

We truly thought we were ready, but unfortunately, we ran into an unexpected obstacle that we overlooked. I know this delay is frustrating, and I can’t wait to finally share this space with all of you. I’m fully set and ready to go, but we have to make sure every regulation is met before we can officially open our doors.

👩🏽‍🍳 Trust me—as soon as we get the green light, it’s showtime! Thank you for your patience, support, and love. Stay tuned—we’re almost there! 🏁

✨Building Bridges: Mayor Kassandra Gove’s Commitment to Inclusivity

This past summer, Mayor Kassandra Gove of Amesbury took a remarkable step towards inclusivity by hiring a Spanish teacher to teach city staff the basics of the language. Her goal? To ensure that her team at Amesbury City Hall can better communicate with the growing Latino community in Amesbury.

As a Latina business owner, I’ve experienced firsthand the impact of this initiative. Thanks to the Mayor’s efforts, city staff have gained the foundational Spanish skills needed to connect with people like me—and it’s making a difference.

Yesterday., I had the honor of catering a “Lunch and Learn” session at Amesbury City Hall, where some staff members practiced their Spanish with me while we shared a meal. The experience was truly touching. For the first time, I felt like my culture, language, and story were not just acknowledged but embraced. The staff’s willingness to learn, listen, and connect made me feel heard and at home.

This is the kind of leadership we need as our communities continue to evolve. Inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword—it’s an action. Mayor Gove’s dedication to creating an environment where all residents feel welcome and supported is an inspiring example of how we can build stronger, more connected communities.

Thank you, Mayor Gove, for making Amesbury a place where everyone belongs. Let’s continue to foster understanding, respect, and inclusivity for all.

What an amazing evening at Metzy’s last night! The Posadas Navideñas was such a joy, and it was wonderful seeing you all.

I loved being able to share my culture and my food with you, especially the authentic tamales that are such a special part of our Posadas Navideñas and holiday traditions. Sharing the history and significance of these traditions with everyone brought me so much happiness.

A big thank you to Jason, our tequila expert, for the incredible tequila selections. Yes, maybe there was a little too much tequila, but when you mix tequila, a microphone, and Mexican spirit, it’s bound to be a night full of fun and laughter!

Thank you to Chef Sean, GM Lisa, and the amazing staff at Metzy’s for your hard work and hospitality. Your efforts made the night seamless and extra special, and I am so grateful for everything you did to make this event a success.

Thank you as well to Erick Metzdorf for graciously allowing me to use your space to share my story and celebrate Posadas Navideñas with such a supportive group. Your kindness means so much.

Thank you so much to our amazing videographer for capturing such an incredible moment!

I love being able to share these cherished traditions with all of you, and I’m so grateful for the laughs, love, and support.

🌟 Let me share the story of this truly incredible family! 🌟

Just a year and a half ago, they arrived in the U.S., and I’ve had the privilege of standing beside them as they navigated the challenges of starting a new life in a new country. This year, they joined me at the Newburyport Farmers Market for the 2024 season, and WOW—did they exceed my expectations! Their hard work, dedication, and resilience are nothing short of inspiring. 💪✨

Jessica, Giovanni, and Ruyeri—words can’t express how proud I am of each of you. Thank you for being who you are and for reminding us all that the American Dream is still alive. 🇺🇸 You have achieved so much in just 18 months, and I know this is only the beginning of your journey.

I’m honored to call you not only employees but also friends and family. I’ll continue to support you every step of the way. ❤️ Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives.

I am deeply honored to stand here today as one of the 2024 Latino Excellence Award honorees at the Massachusetts State House, having received this award this past Friday. Receiving this recognition is more than I could have imagined, and it truly celebrates the journey that’s brought me here.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Essex State Representative Dawne Shand, who nominated me, and to the Methuen State Representative who formally recognized me for this honor at The Black and Latino Legislative Caucus Award Ceremony. Their support, along with that of the Massachusetts community, has opened doors I never thought possible.

Friday, October 25th, was an unforgettable day for me. Not only did I receive an official citation from the state, but I was also given a private tour of the Massachusetts State House by senator Bruce E. Tarr—a humbling and surreal experience that highlighted the incredible generosity and support of those around me.

Growing up in a struggling community in Mexico, with limited resources and opportunities, I faced many challenges. Yet, the support I’ve received here in Massachusetts reminds me that every dream is possible with hard work and resilience. This award is a testament to the spirit of the Latino community and the incredible opportunities that come when people come together.

Thank you all for this honor, for believing in me, and for celebrating the beauty of diversity and excellence. I look forward to continuing to serve and uplift our community.

✨Two years ago, when I launched my business, I was featured on the front page of the Daily News of Newburyport 🗞️ on October 2022. I can’t express how proud I felt then, and how far I’ve come since. It’s been an incredible rollercoaster journey that has now brought me to working on my first brick and mortar in Newburyport—the town where Rosita’s Cocina was born. I am beyond proud to be part of this community, one that has welcomed me with open arms.
