Why I Started Rosita’s Cocina

I started Rosita’s Cocina to share the flavors, memories, and traditions I grew up with in Mexico. What began as a small dream at local farmers markets grew into a full brick-and-mortar kitchen — a place filled with culture, community, and real home-style cooking.

Rosita’s Cocina is where you can taste, learn, and feel at home.

A proud Newburyport resident since 2006, Milva spent over 25 years in the fintech industry before following her entrepreneurial spirit into fashion—and now, into her lifelong passion for cooking and sharing culture through food.

Inspired by her Venezuelan roots, Milva brings people together with flavorful dishes, heartfelt gatherings, and the joy of keeping traditions alive around the table. 🍲💬

One of her favorite family traditions is making hallacas for Christmas dinner—a true family affair where everyone gathers to assemble these beautiful parcels wrapped in banana leaves while listening to gaitas and aguinaldos. 🎶🍃

This December, 🔥 Rosita’s Cocina is thrilled to introduce a beautiful new hands-on cooking class series that will continue all winter long — a table experience where food, culture, and community come together. ❄️✨
“Mi Cocina, Tu Cocina”is more than a class — it’s a shared table experience. 🍽️ Each session brings local Latina women into our kitchen 👩🏽‍🍳 to teach one of their favorite traditional dishes and share the stories that make it special. From Venezuelan hallacas 🇻🇪, to yummy Salvadoran pupusas 🇸🇻, to Colombian bandeja paisa 🇨🇴, every class is a flavorful journey through Latin America. 🌎💛
You’ll cook together, taste together, and celebrate together — leaving not just with a recipe, but with connection, cultura, and community. 🌺
