Friday, February 28th and everyday…SHOP SMALL!

Please remember that not all businesses are not created equal. The big machines we know-they’re layered, political, rich, and packed with teams and teams of people. On the other hand, a small business is often just one or two people with big dreams and even bigger hearts. Yet, they are the ones that make our community here in NBPT so incredibly special. It’s why you live here…to walk around this adorable seaside town, browse the small retail shops and grab food at your favorite restaurants. It’s where you meet your friends for special occasions, take your loved ones out to celebrate, and shop for the people you care about. It’s the heartbeat of this town, and without these small businesses, there would so much less life, character, and draw.
Small businesses are suffering with the current economic climate, and the last thing you should do is boycott any small business on February 28th or any day after that. Go to the shops you love, buy something if you can. Go out to dinner. Get an extra round of drinks. It ALL matters.

If you’ve been a Salt + Grove visitor over the last five years you know this face. Stacy, seriously one of the kindest, most beautiful souls on the planet joined our tiny team and quickly became an integral part of our shop and our mission to bring good vibes to Newburyport. Not only is Stacy the sweetest, she is the backbone of everything organizational behind the scenes. She took on roles Sarah nor I probably would have ever taken on 😂, and she has kept our operations top notch. Her love for Salt + Grove runs as deep as our’s does for her.

Today, she is working her last shift as she transitions from her time with us. There are no words for how much we appreciate Stacy and will dearly miss her, but we know she will always be a part of Salt + Grove! Please join us in wishing Stacy well! 🤍

It feels impossible to find the right words or actions in a time of such devastation and loss. Our hearts are breaking for everyone who has lost a home, belongings, a business, and most importantly irreplaceable heirlooms, photos, and memories. It’s heart wrenching.
California, one half of “Salt + Grove”…it’s where Sarah grew up, and so its essence has been deeply woven into the fabric of our brand from the very beginning, and you better bet that all the “good vibes” we have hoped to spread came from that Golden state. We feel lost, and we’re guessing a lot of you do too. Every move seems to be not enough. It’s a dreary Monday, and if you’re like us, we’ve been peeking at ALL the wild sales happening across all of these big online retailers. What a week for deals! But when we see this, we know that locally owned shops are going to take a hit.

It’s been a tough year for many of the businesses in our town - and many other communities - and shopping small is more important than ever.

Behind the scenes we are gearing up for the holidays...in hopes of an uptick in sales. Now we know it’s newly October, but many of you are already doing your holiday shopping - the trend seems early this year, and it is likely fueled by the large retailers and these mega sales.

While we can never compete with what they are offering, we have decided to host our own little Secret Sale for those of you looking to snag holiday goods EARLY.

This week only, you can snag holiday goods in our current online Holiday Collection featured online, and receive 20% off (discount automatically applied).
