Boring meetings, events, award shows and conferences aren’t our thing.

This Starry Night award show is, though.

Back story: this event had people in attendance from all over the U.S. dining in the . Most of the guests had no idea they would be dining on stage.

We love to do a “reveal moment” to create some immediate excitement and get the event started on a high note.

This year’s theme was Starry Night, so we wanted to make sure guests felt like they were dining amongst the stars. The clouds (fog machines) filled the stage, guests poured down the aisles (we heard some say “wait, where are the dinner tables?”), and the announcement started. Right when everyone heard “continue to the stage” the curtains opened and gasps from the crowd filled the theater.

This moment - although only about three minutes in real time - took months to plan, prepare and perfect.

We're thrilled to welcome Danielle Johnson to the Ember team as our newest Gathering Producer! She joins us with eight years of past event industry experience and understands the ever-changing fun/craziness of event agency life.

Danielle went to school for film so she has an amazing foundation and wealth of knowledge, making her a great fit for projects that require media production. She LOVES to travel and be onsite, which is a really good thing considering she’s already been to four events since she started last month.

We are so excited to have Danielle on the team!

Wedding planning. If you know, you know. It’s stressful, full of endless decisions, and not the most relaxing of times. Unless, of course, you elope. That’s where we come into play. This spring we are introducing Ember Elopes.

If you’re in the beginning stages of the process and are already fed up with exhaustive planning and the obligation to invite every distant acquaintance, we have quite the proposal for you.

With two weeks’ notice, we will produce an intimate invite-only event. Give us your objective, budget, and guest list - and we’ll do the rest. The only catch is that we get to choose the destination. We like to gather in really cool places - so get ready.

What has two thumbs and also loves gathering? You may have guessed from the photos that we aren’t talking about a chipmunk with thumbs. Ember is spotlighting a few team members every month, and this month, we are highlighting the incredible CHRIS GASBARRO. He has two thumbs and loves gathering more than anything. Ironically - his start did begin with a major in forestry. He transitioned into a rock-n-roll roadie before ultimately founding Ember with his business partner, Kathy DelMedico, where his love of gathering shows in everything he does.

There’s so much to highlight about Chris, but it’s actually pretty hard to put his essence into words. Instead, we will let his accolades speak for themselves. Chris has orchestrated events on five continents and in over 20 countries. He has served as the President of the International Live Events Association and Meeting Professionals International. Chris was also named the New England Chapter’s Biz Bash Magazine Innovator of the Year. What may surprise you most (besides the forestry major) is that his favorite role on site is propping open the doors as a general session begins to let attendees flood into the space.

While he’s passionate about gathering, he does have hobbies outside of work. You can find him either chasing striped bass off the coast or fly fishing on a remote Maine stream, at a New England Revolution game (he’s been a season ticket holder for 17 years) or watching a Manchester United game. One last fun fact: Chris is the holder of an unverified team record of canoeing the entire length of the Connecticut River from the Canadian Border to Long Island Sound in under 70 hours.

To know Chris is to love him and to be at one of his events is to know magic.

Ember brought a creative twist to The Copley Mall in Boston for a healthcare rebrand activation. Our team meticulously designed and fabricated a 15 x 15 foot space, setting the stage for an impactful brand experience. The highlight was distributing specially crafted, witty Valentine’s Day cards, each serving as a unique ambassador for the brand’s new identity.

This approach resonated with over 6,000 visitors, effectively leaving them with more than just a card – they carried away a piece of the brand’s evolving story.

Our first big event with Saucony took place at The Running Event, the largest gathering of running store retailers. Each night, various footwear brands hosted parties for over 1,000 running retailers to showcase their brands.

Saucony envisioned a centerpiece/installation for the party that said, 'We are the OG running brand. We have been around for 80 years.'

Our creation? An electrifying installation, crafted from two decades of Saucony's finest kicks, interwoven with snapshots of marathon legends and Olympians mid-stride. That night, our installation became the backdrop for countless social media pictures and tags, leading Saucony to not only out-trend giants like Nike and Asics, but also become *the* number one tag in Austin that night.

That's what happens when you give Ember a vision – we sprint with it, setting new benchmarks in trendsetting. When you run with us, expect to lead the pack. Pun intended, Saucony.

Atop a Miami parking garage, Ember turned the mundane into the magnificent for a business meeting. An LED screen lit up the stage, complimented by the Miami Beach skyline behind it. This unique Ember experience redefined a regular meeting into an immersive, panoramic event. As business discussions concluded, the scene naturally evolved, ushering in a lively Miami-style party.

While we don't have an annual goal to make lists or awards, we are humbled by the recognition.⁠

Our 14th year on the list (out of 15), we may not rank the highest, although our ranking goes up when you sort the list by "No. of events fully managed"...and... if there was ranking for most events outside of Massachusetts we'd be right at the top (only 15% of our events are in New England).⁠

A small, now fully remote agency, we strive for quality over quantity....and we like to think we have the best list of clients than our peers.⁠

For the staging and production needs of a recent event - ALL power came from (6) Ford lightning trucks that were set up/monitored by ember - drawing peak loads of 65KW during an evening concert. 5 trucks by the stage, 1 front of house by mix position.⁠

It was new for us, pushed by our B-corp client, and now we are ready for more sustainably produced events...and Chris is nagging Kathy to purchase a Ford Lightning for ember uses like this!⁠

Being a good neighbor.⁠ ⁠ The ember team recently paused during the busy spring to lend a hand to @ember.escapes next-door neighbor Camp Sentinel. The camp welcomes 700 campers each summer into nature (not turning away kids who can't afford it), and we did our best to help get the lodge ready!

Our front yard.⁠ ⁠ With 60 acres and neighbors miles away, you can escape to be engulfed by nature.⁠ ⁠ Our fields and trails welcome views and encounter eagles, deer, wild turkey, owls, hawks...and the occasional black bear.
