I don’t share a lot about my personal life on here because my purpose is to celebrate YOUR special day, but I’m feeling sentimental on this rainy Wednesday, so here is a sneak peek at my wedding ❤️ 9.20.20 ❤️

There was something so special about getting ready in my childhood home. Surrounded by only my closest family and friends (thank you COVID 😅) and saying “I do” to my best friend on my parents back property. When you only have 20 guests at your wedding, it feels like this secret club of VIPs who all shared a moment in time that forever changed our lives in the best way possible. The nerves, the smells, the way the air felt when I walked out and saw my husband-to-be waiting for me will live rent-free in my head forever. That is why I started on this journey. Entrepreneurship is not always an easy road but I can’t imagine doing anything else. I want every couple to feel like that about their wedding day, forever ♾️💕

Pro tip: When it comes to favors, skip the personalized bottle opener key chains and koozies. It breaks my heart to see them left behind so often because I know they are not cheap! Instead, opt for an edible favor (cookies, honey 🍯 or chocolate covered popcorn are delicious options). Bonus points if you find one that fits the season you are getting married in - caramel apples in Fall? 😍🍎 SO CUTE.

Also, consider putting your favors at each place setting instead of a favor table. Your guests are much less likely to forget them if they’re right at their seat ☺️

Here is a small piece of advice that I always give my brides: Go on Pinterest or Google and find photos that you KNOW you want your photographer to capture. Create an album, and share it with them prior to your big day. It makes your cocktail hour photoshoot run so much smoother AND ensures you get all the photos you want. Your photographer will appreciate it and you will be happy knowing the important moments were captured exactly how you wanted.

✨The Handoff✨

The handoff happens during the ceremony when the bride’s es**rt (oftentimes her father) hands her off to the groom. There is an art to making this flow seamlessly and allow for special moments to be captured by the photographer. There are a few variations to this process but most often it goes like this:

⭐️ Bride and es**rt reach the altar area
⭐️ Es**rt and bride hug
⭐️ Es**rt kisses bride on the cheek
⭐️ Es**rt shakes the groom’s hand and returns to their seat

The majority of my brides have never been married before so they are shocked at how many little details go into making a ceremony flow flawlessly. That’s what I’m here for 💗

Let’s talk about the “first look” 👀

Simply put, a first look is when the bride and groom see each other prior to walking down the aisle. For some couples, it’s a fantastic way to ditch nerves before the ceremony BUT it can also can serve as an opportunity to exchange private vows. Not everyone is comfortable professing their undying love in front of 50+ of their closest family and friends 😅

BONUS: Once you have already seen each other, oftentimes your photographer will front load a lot of couples shots so it doesn’t take as long during cocktail hour and you might actually get to ENJOY cocktail hour. So what do you think - are first looks a “do” or “don’t” for you?
