REC CENTER SENSORY GYM UPDATE!

A lot of things are coming together for the Sensory Gym to become a reality. I am turning in insurance quotes, my business license and the Newport Rec Center is running a background check on me.

Once all that goes through, then we'll go on our shopping spree and purchase our equipment! After installation and a final inspection, we'll be set to go! We had originally thought mid June, but it will most likely be early July. (There may be a VIP Grand Opening party, so make sure you follow this page to be included!)

Thank you to everyone who took part in my survey! This is not the end of your input, though! I am always open to hearing how I can make the experience as enjoyable as possible to you and your loved ones.

Our tentative schedule will be Thurs-Sun with a variety of hours to include as many families as possible. I will also be working on an option to open the Sensory Gym to private parties and special events as well as community events once we have been open a few months.

Pricing will be $7 per visit for Newport residents and there will be multi-pass options available for a discount.

PUBLIC SENSORY GYM AT The City of Newport Parks and Recreation REC CENTER UPDATE:

I have received some wonderful feedback regarding what your ideal experience will look like, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, opinions and questions!

Addressing one question I received, the Sensory Gym will be located in one of the rooms FAR from the basketball courts and pool. It's probably the quietest room in the facility. We will constantly evaluate and gather data on when the quietest times are for those who would appreciate less noise disturbances.
