Meet The Director of Lend Me A Soprano! Daniel Lee White!

This show marks ten years and over 25 productions for myself here at the Newport Playhouse. I am immensely grateful to Olivia M. Sahlin for leading me to this place and to Matt Siravo and Jonathan Perry for inviting me into this family and taking such good care of me. I have had the pleasure of working alongside so many talented people over these ten years, and I look forward to those I will hopefully work with in the future. Thank you to this cast for the amazing work you have put into this show, and thank you to both of my stage managers. Most importantly, thank you to my wife for letting me do this as a career. This show is dedicated to the memory of Tonya Free, a fantastic performer, stage manager, and set designer whom we all miss dearly.

Tim is a comedian and actor making his debut at the Newport Playhouse. He performs stand-up and improv comedy throughout the Northeast and most recently appeared with Whatever Fate Decides at the Queen City Comedy Festival. Meet The Cast of Lend Me A Soprano! Rick Bagley is Bellhop!

I became part of Matt Siravo's family in the early
90's when he allowed me, a Naval Officer with
little experience and no training, to play a disciple
with no lines and a l***r with the line "Heal me!"
in Jesus Christ Superstar. Over the last 30 years
I have appeared in over 40 shows at the Playhouse and earned a BFA in Acting and Directing at URI. I want to give Jonathan a huge thanks for all he has done to keep the Playhouse alive.

Meet The Cast of Lend Me A Soprano! Genevra Stewart is Jo!

Genevra is grateful to be performing with this amazing cast. She has been seen before at The Playhouse in Nunsense, Boeing Boeing and One Slight Hitch. She performed at The Granite Theater in Westerly in Social Security and the drama Taking Sides. She has been a dancer/performer in dozens of musicals with The Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera including 42nd Street which she performed professionally at The Theater Under the Stars in Houston,TX. She was raised riding horses and doing ballet in California then went to college at AMDA in New York City. Genevra loves the outdoors and being with her 17 year old son.

Meet The Cast of Lend Me A Soprano! John Brennan is Pasquale Firenzi!

John has found a home at the Playhouse since 1996, appearing in Blithe Spirit, The Nerd, Greetings, When the Cat's Away, You Should Be So Lucky, Lover's Leap, Crossing Delancey, Wally's Cafe, Lover's Leap, My Three Angels, and so much more. He has been a ghost tour guide for 21 years, and he is the author of Ghosts of Newport, and with his dear friend, artist Rafael Medina, he has co written Newport Live and Newport Eats. He also appears in the Rhode Island Bards Poetry Anthology 2024. Thank you to Jonathan, Daniel, Julia, and the entire cast for the joy and love he finds here, and his entire Playhouse family. He met his loving wife Michelle on this stage, and his children Michael, Mackenzie, and Felix grew up here.
Without them, his own journey would be empty.
Also, a special thank you to Tonya, for everything.

Cindy Killavey is honored to portray Julia once again. She appeared as this character in "Lend Me A Tenor" and is thrilled to be part of this talented cast in the author's re-imagining of the show now entitled "Lend Me A Soprano". Performing for the very supportive audiences here at the Playhouse is always a delight. Thanks to Daniel, Jonathan, Alyssa and the entire Playhouse staff for making the magic happen again and again. Meet The Cast of Lend Me A Soprano! Olivia M. Sahlin is Elena Firenzi!

Olivia first joined the Playhouse in 2013, and since then she has been connected to every production at the theater either on stage, off stage, or in the audience. She is inexpressibly grateful for all the wonderful people who have worked at the Playhouse, including her recently departed mentor, Tonya Free, and the love of her life, Tim Bric. Meet The Cast of Lend Me A Soprano! Brayden Fanti is Jerry!

Brayden Fanti is a local actor and director in MA and RI with a BA in Theatre Performance. He is also the Theatre Director for Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech and Old Rochester Regional High School. Previous roles include Shreddy Eddy in AIRNESS and Duke Frederick / Senior in AS YOU LIKE IT at the Contemporary Theater Company, Jimmy in MIRACLE ON SOUTH DIVISION STREET and Bobby in RUN FOR YOUR WIFE at the Newport Playhouse, and Harry Domin in R.U.R. at the Head Trick Theatre. He would like to thank his family, friends, and every student and castmate along the way for being his reason to step on stage.

Meet the cast of "Lend Me A Soprano" first up, Cass Caduto!

CASS CADUTO (Jo). This is Cass's first time performing with the Newport Playhouse. She is an actor, writer, and rock musician from Providence, Rhode Island whose favorite past roles include Maureen Johnson in Rent (Stadium Theatre), Elizabeth Benning in Young Frankenstein (RISE), Regina Koontz in Rock of Ages (Stadium Theatre), Petra in A Little Night Music (RISE), and The Hawker in The Who's Tommy (Bristol Theatre Company). She is the writer of Permanent Solutions, a play that was produced at various venues from RISE to AS220 to Manhattan's 59E59 Theatre, and she originated the role of Katherine Hudson in said show. She is a creative partner of the non-profit organization The ADHD Project and can be seen and heard as the co-host of its bi-weekly podcast, F*ck the Plan: The ADHD Project Podcast. She'd like to thank her fiancé Matt for his never-ending support and their goldendoodle Appa for simply existing.

It's 1934, and the clever and combustible Lucille Wiley, Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-class soprano Elena Firenzi for her one-night-only starring role in Carmen. Alas, Elena arrives late, her impassioned husband Pasquale has a fit of jealousy, and it remains to be seen whether Mrs. Wiley’s mousy but determined assistant Jo can save the day.

Based on Ken Ludwig’s Tony Award-winning Lend Me A Tenor, this madcap screwball comedy features ladies in the leading roles and is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter. It's 1934, and the clever and charismatic Lucille Wiley, Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, prepares to welcome world-class soprano Elena Firenzi for her one-night-only starring role in Carmen. Enjoy the Newport Playhouse Experience! The Newport Playhouse was established in 1983 and has been a favorite with locals and tourists ever since we first opened our doors. We are a family-owned and operated business and we cater to your needs as if you were a member of our own family. Our dinner theatre is quite unique and known locally for the quality and consistency of what we offer our audiences. You’d be hard-pressed to find another theater across the country that does what we do year-round. Guests enjoy a great buffet, a humorous comedy and then are entertained over dessert by our music-filled cabaret.

Our air-conditioned, handicapped accessible theatre is conveniently located at the foot of the Newport Bridge and has plenty of parking – at no additional charge. Our extensive, hearty buffet does not skimp on quality or selection. Everything is prepared on the premises. We offer a large variety of hot and cold foods, main entrees, side dishes, beverages and homemade desserts. A full liquor service is available either tableside or at the comfortable bar.

Our intimate theatre is just a short stroll from the dining room. There you will have reserved seating with an excellent of professional performances you’ll be sure to remember for years to come. After the curtain call, it is back to the cabaret restaurant for the perfect finale to your playhouse experience, our post-show cabaret. Our company of professional singers and dancers (many of whom you will recognize from the play) perform a cabaret set of pop standards, memorable show tunes and even comedy sketches to end your evening with at the Newport Playhouse in classic style.
