Our SG Wedding Planning Guide is going to print! 48 pages of help with all the details, including photos of how to use all the decor we include when you have your wedding here. Checklists for snacks, desserts, beverages, bridal room, detail photos, parts of a timeline, a place for thank yous, receipts, etc. Layout design ideas, sample timelines, and photos! Your 4 included planning meetings with us and your planning time at home just got easier! So much advice included from our 17 years of experience! Current brides, your binders will be delivered to you early February!

Each week we mow about 10 hours getting ready for weddings. Love seeing all the tall prairie grasses! This is the "backyard". Lots of photo opps! We will drive you and your photographer anywhere on our 30 acre property!

For this weekend's wedding! Highway F-48 construction update: Open from Hwy 14 in Newton all the way to Sugar Grove on the beautiful new road! EXIT 159 AT INTERSTATE 80 IS CLOSED, so use Exit 164 at Newton, then take F-48 west (5 miles to Sugar Grove)---OR--- take Exit 155 at Colfax, go north on 117, follow signs for Countryside RV (east on N 19th Ave W) and take several miles of gravel, then go south on W.62nd St. N, then west on Ginger Ave.

Update on Sugar Grove access during Hwy F-48 resurfacing for this weekend:Go around the road closed signs to get here. If for some reason you can't get through, follow Google Maps or map quest for the detour options.

It is prom, shower, and celebration season! Weddings kick off May 18th and we are mulching, trimming, and sprucing up! Now, the important news...how do we get to Sugar Grove with the F-48 construction? As of now, the best way is to take Exit 159 off of I-80 and take F-48 (go around the closed signs) to the barn as usual. The road is a little rough, but actually quite good, with center lines painted!! Google Maps and Map Quest have alternate routes once that exit is no longer open. I will keep you updated here! You can also check out Jasper County Road Department. They are doing a great job updating!

Our 1870 Grange Hall is available for showers from April through November. Sunday afternoons, sometimes Saturdays are available. A shower scheduled for a Sugar Grove bride is included in the wedding package! Regular rental is $100. Setup of tables, chairs and ivory satin damask tablecloths is included.

We are giving many private tours these days! We have several dates "penciled in", which means that couples are strongly interested but have not yet made a deposit. This is an old fashioned practice that helps relieve stress for couples. It works! If someone else absolutely wants the "penciled in" date, we contact the first couple to see if they are ready to put down the deposit. The following dates are still absolutely open (not penciled in) for 2024: July 6, all of August, November 9, and November 16.
