We have exciting plans for next year centered around a lovely outdoor patio space for celebrations, concerts, and community events, much needed more efficient windows, and fresh coat of exterior paint.

Niwot Hall is a 501(c)3 organization run completely by volunteers. So we're asking early and often for your support. Whatever you can pitch in will go a long way in keeping our local historic gem a warm wonderful venue in the heart of our community.

Guitarists Teja Gerken and Michael DeLalla in concert on Thursday, Nov. 6. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include drinks.

Teja Gerken is renowned throughout the world of guitars for his stellar playing, compositions, and arrangements. Besides performing and recording, Teja has also written extensively about guitars, guitarists, and related subjects.

Niwotian Michael DeLalla has been serving up a delicious brew of his solo guitar compositions and arrangements drawn on musical traditions gathered worldwide, steeped with classical training and seasoned with jazz and folk influences. His fluency on classical, 12-string, and steel-string acoustic guitar showcases gifted improvisation and dazzling technical facility that never sacrifices the richness and poignancy of his compositions.

Music at the Hall is back this Sunday, Oct. 12, 1:30 with special guests Pete and Joan Wernick opening the show.

The Wernicks have played at the Left Hand Grange (the name of the building prior to being Niwot Hall) more than any other venue beginning in the 1980’s. This year they’ll bring along a group of Jam Camp students to perform a couple of songs on their own.

Following their performances, local musicians will have their turn at the mic until 3:30. Complimentary snacks are served.

Niwot Community Connection meeting at Niwot Hall, Thursday, October 9, from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Given the dip in temperatures, the NCC is back in Niwot Hall with monthly meetings. In addition to being updated on local news and learning what each of the many NCC interest groups is up to two guest speakers will be attending the meeting.

Matthew Wirta, Adult Services Librarian at the new Gunbarrel Library, will give the group an update on the library’s progress and will answer your questions.

Elaine Klotz, Development Director from the OUR Center in Longmont will share information about the wide range of services they provide to support individuals and families in need in the St. Vrain Valley School District area.

The group is also holding a food drive to benefit OUR Center during this meeting. Please bring your donation of canned tuna or chicken, dry pasta, canned beans, vegetables, tomato products, and fruits.

Please plan to attend the Rally to Save Boulder Farms & Small Businesses, Tuesday, August 12, 10-11AM, at Second Avenue and Murray Street, Niwot

Organized by the Boulder County Farms and Jobs Alliance and the Niwot Business Association, this event will call on county leaders to allow local choice on a fair, regionally appropriate minimum wage policy.

Farmers, small businesses, and community residents will gather in Niwot at the parking lot on Murray Street (between Second and Third Avenue) on Tuesday, August 12, at 10 a.m. for a powerful rally featuring local voices to protest a Boulder County wage mandate that is threatening the survival of farms, youth employment, and historic towns in unincorporated areas of Boulder County.

Speakers will share firsthand accounts of closures, lost hiring capacity, and competitive disadvantages as unincorporated communities are forced to pay wages up to 41% higher than neighboring cities.

The public is encouraged to hear directly from those who will be impacted by this ordinance and to inform you how you will be impacted as consumers.
