Blossom Thyme Hill Flowers was established in 1986 when we offered dried flower wreaths and bouquets. We grew some of our flowers for our wreaths after we purchased 5 acres of land in 1990. We put in extensive rose gardens and flowers for my wreaths, and that's when gardening became a passion for me and my children grew up planting right along side me. I planted 200 pine trees with my 1st son on m

y back in a carrier when he was only 6 months old. A labor of love went into establishing the flower farm, so it's been a family affair with hubby helping my dreams come true. So now, after raising my children and as the empty nest approaches, I am back full time in the garden and my hope is to offer fresh flowers for brides, special occasions, parties, and my church for our women's conference each year. I have loved flowers my whole life, so having the flower farm is a huge blessing. I am able to wake up each morning and do what I love so much. Being in nature, feeding my favorite little bluebirds, watching for the blue buntings and baby fawns is like my little peace of heaven.

So looking forward to putting the gardens to rest. The dark soil to regenerate itself, the darkness of the hours tells my tired body to rest as well. I’ve come to realize as a woman and a mother, this is something that doesn’t come natural for me, but I’m trying to embrace it more and surrendering to let go a little more. The rhythms of the gardening life is much like our own lives when you take a closer look. I’m so thankful for the harvest of beauty, the abundance of joy that nature brings, but I’m also looking forward to the sacred gifts that winter brings. Warm fires, watching snowflakes outside my window, birds happily eating seed, reflecting and reading with my favorite Sherpa blanket, looking through photos that inspire next season. I hope you have a thankful week and a blessed thanksgiving.

So sad to see these go, but they sure were pretty. This summer we experienced drought for months; it was a very challenging year and made me want to move. Growing dahlias isn’t easy in hot and humid climates, and are labor intensive, but when cooler temps arrived in September, they are a welcome sight.

I have always admired florets post when she uses her corner shelf window with all the sweet vases filled with seasonal flowers. So when my husband gave me my Mother’s Day present this year I gasped with sheer delight. There’s no way he would have had any idea about , but don’t you just love it when we receive something so awesome. I love this shelf/ old door made into something I will use and enjoy so much. Even though these flowers are the end of the season I just had to get this accomplished for this year.

The 25degree dip last night forced us to say goodbye to our flowers last night, but it sure was a beautiful season of pretty. We cut everything we could and have tubs full of flowers we will be photographing and sharing soon for those winter days that we need a reminder of the goodness of flowers. Thanks for following along dear flower lovers.

After being away from my gardens for 3 weeks, I was taking a stroll through the garden and found a surprise I’ve been looking forward to for months. This was my first year starting dahlias from seed. This beauty is from@dahliasbyjulie Irish Ruffles! What a fun project anyone should try! It’s the unknown mystery of the color you will get. Thanks, Julie for sharing your seeds.

So many fun and exciting things coming this week and next here on the flower farm. Even though in some areas we are behind, it’s coming together and as I walk around, the flowers that are here make me smile every time I walk past them and as we finish up this week I’m looking forward to our few events. We will hopefully soon be hosting a mini retreat, a farm to table event and a children’s workshop day. Tickets are limited and followers will get first choice. Starting the end of July we will have our flower cart Fridays.

Hoping for rain so badly! I’ve been getting up at 5:00 just to water befor the 100 degrees temperature comes. Today it was 88 degrees by 10:00 and the flowers are really taking their toll. We haven’t had a drop yet f rain in 5 weeks at high 90’s. I have to alter the areas to get correct pressure for the four areas, forget trying to save the grass. Hoping this chain will break for at least some overcast or rain. 🙏

The dahlias have been blooming since June 15, my blush row is making me so happy! My son was watering last night and he said, oh those are a nice color and I said right, I think so too! It’s so fun to get to enjoy them a little early, however they don’t grow as well in these temperatures so we’ve got shade cover in all of our rows, but you gotta do what you gotta do

Today was beautiful and full of life giving gifts. I’ve been going so hard and not letting up. When I get focused it’s hard for me to give myself breaks because I want to finish my farming flower tasks. I can move on to life, and priorities like my family. Sometimes I need to remember to give myself some grace and just be in the moment and make pancakes for my son and enjoy the moment. A memory shared is worth a thousand prints on the heart.

Finding joy! Walking the path of beauty, even though the days are extremely hot, I’m surrendering to a slower pace and accepting what is the unknowns. Will we ever get rain again, will it be 100 degrees every day through fall as I’ve seen in the past, is there a real solution to climate change? So many changes for everyone and we’ve all been through so much, but we are all so resilient. We are strong and we will find a way.

This photo was taken back in the spring when all the crabapples and pear trees were in bloom. Wishing these spring temperatures were here now as it’s going to be 101 degrees all week and we haven’t had any rain in over a month. 🥲Now regret complaining about too much rain in the spring. 😂😭 Watering twice a day just so the plants and trees will survive. Hoping for a break and some rain soon. #

Happy 4th July weekend! Hope you are doing something you love. We are finishing up our rabbit deterring fencing so we can actually have blooms. We are also watching movies and making meals from scratch. Today was one of our favorites to make from sloppy joe’s recipe, I think fitting for the holiday. The roses are still going strong and we are actually putting in dozens more. Antique roses are what I started with and now we’re adding Charlene and my favorite Earth Angel. It’s so fitting coming full circle. #

The middle field is starting to fill in and I’m always in awe of how beautiful. I’m finding these silent and peaceful moments as it restores my hope. Getting to a place of completion feels so good and that means we will be updating our events schedule and flower cart times, so be on the lookout for more details. Thanks so much for following along. 417flowerfarm

Had to say goodbye to the poppies a couple of days ago, we cleaned out the bed and have now put in the pre- sprouted 1 ft dahlias that have been patiently waiting to go in the ground; especially now that we have a 3 day opportunity while the temps are 20 degrees cooler, but not for long and I am working as fast as I can. I must say it’s been one of the craziest years, but I’m almost there and I can’t wait.

Our Story

Blossom Thyme Hill is residential flower farm in Nixa, Missouri. We offer made-to-order bouquets, floral workshops, and rent the flower farm cottage for photo shoots and parties.

Blossom Thyme Hill Flowers was first started over 25 years ago when we offered dried flower wreaths and bouquets. We grew some of our flowers for our wreaths after we purchased 5 acres of land in 1990. I put my business on hold to raise 3 beautiful children. We put in extensive rose gardens and flowers for my wreaths, and that's when gardening became a passion for me and my children grew up planting right along side me.

I planted 200 pine trees with my 1st son on my back in a carrier when he was only 6 months old. When my daughter got married in 2015, I planted a wildflower field for her to have her first look.

Even though I have been planting wildflower seeds each year, it was only small patches here and there. Also, in 2015 we able build a cottage based on a picture I had cut out in a magazine long ago. I had a whole notebook of saved cottages and greenhouses, hoping that some day I would be able to have my own studio. I had no idea that this would actually happen and through some real blessings and my mil looking down from heaven, we were able to build my life long dream cottage.
