Catering Confession:

There was a time in my Catering Career where I worked for 36hours straight and thought it would be my last job.

At the end of that event, I was tipped $500 with a card of beautiful and kind words telling me of my talents.

I was shocked and elated. It felt like such a miracle to me.

I created a full spread catering with mimosas vegetarian and meat friendly, including fresh pastries, biscuits, salmon plank platter and a tiered baby shower cake. 🥰❤️

It's that Tip from such a wonderful client,
that is Why I AM still Catering and
moving toward my visions.

I'm am so incredibly grateful and will never forget this pivotal point in my life and career.

Creating Any Human Experience is my dream.

Hi! My name is Melissa Bailey, I am the owner and culinary artist of VIBE Catering. I have been cooking and in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. My early years in my grandmothers kitchen, practicing my pancakes, has fueled a love and passion for food and feeding those I love that has lasted my lifetime. My talents are both God given and self-taught through my unique true likeness and love for cooking and creating food as art and love.

Having used creating and serving food as an expression of love for all those I hold dear, I have been called to extend that love to all of you. Celebrating any human experience is something that gets me in my feels and my way to contribute to such beautiful happiness is through food. Being able to witness such raw beautiful human emotions while serving others and creating food is the absolute passion of my life. Something that has been used as love, to supplementing income for my family has now become my life's purpose.

I named VIBE back in 2015, the name was inspired by Kenrick Lemar's new song while in the bathtub! Finally naming something that I created back when I was 15 years old- my restaurant. When needing to name my new catering service in 2019 the only name that made sense was to use VIBE in hopes to transistion from catering to brick and mortar in time. Also Merging a baking business I lovingly created in 2018 'I'm Not A Baker' with VIBE created what was VIBE Catering and Cakes and into now VIBE Catering.

Food can be so many things. To me, food is art, it is love, it brings people to union, it brings nutrition and health to our bodies, and it satiates our desires. Food is intimate as well as necessary. Food is a WHOLE VIBE!

Catering and planning events as if they are my own, my own family and friends brings me the upmost joy. Infusing food with all of my heart, mind and soul. I love celebrating; and sharing in celebration with people is also among my favorite things in life. It is truly my honor to serve you no matter how small or big an occasion!

Thank you Gallery Forty-Two for an incredible evening and experience!

There's a moment in every catering job I've ever had.... where I say... 'why do I do this, this is the last job I'm doing' or something like that.

It's a fleeting moment where it feels I've bitten off more than I can chew and am grossly overwhelmed at the amount of work currently I'm engrossed in.

Anyway I say it every single time.

And then.....

I get to the Venue, Set up the table and when people start eating my food. Then the reactions to the deliciousness they are eating.....

THAT is the Exact moment where I answer ALL of those questions I've had earlier in the job and I KNOW exactly why I do this.

It is so much work, working non stop, making most eveeything from scratch but when people eat my food and I see the delight in their eyes, it shoots right to my heart and is like a drug I've never had and a high that I cannot explain.... euphoria maybe.

But those are the moments that make it all worth it.
Giving people an amazing mouth experience is my addiction, my drug, my happiness. Feeding humans.

The Food Table last night was amazing. Some of my best flavor profiles I've ever created.
From the Thai Hot Honey Chicken and Biscuit Slider to the Wildberry Lavender Cupcakes, the Duck Prosciutto and the Claaghdagh Irish Cheddar, to the warmed Brie wPitsatchios and honey, the egg salad (chefs kiss on that one!) it was a really incredible night and I am blessed to be a part of the gallery, it's really quite something.
