Want to hear a secret? It's and it's time to get to know our Executive Creative & Art Director, Janel Bailey Keen. I used to be TERRIFIED of working with fresh flowers. I mean, I LOVED flowers but, you know, they're alive!!! They are sensitive, they can wilt, fall apart, and if not treated right... they die. Fast forward 13 years and 2 certifications in Floral Design later and fresh flowers are now my FAVORITE design & artistic medium. Well, next to paint of course. Fresh flowers hit so soo many senses. Sight, fragrant, and touch... all to create a visceral experience and event atmosphere that will forever trigger unforgettable memories. Having flowers in your wedding designs means you'll never see, smell, or touch them again without instantly being taken back to your own special day.

Have you fallen in love with a particular wedding location? Loooove the work of a particular photographer? Is there a pro like a Planner or Designer you're interested in? 2 BIG THINGS to keep in mind. #1 Make sure you are comfortable with them. For example, wedding photographers and wedding consultants are going to literally be there with you or shadowing you during every moment. Think about it, when your getting dressed, your Mom helping you put on your veil and grandmother's necklace, crying before Dad takes your hand and you walk to the ceremony site. All the most emotional and intimate moments. It's VERY important to choose someone who will make you feel comfortable so you won't even know they are there and you can live in the moment. #2 If YOU love them, then you're not alone and OTHER people want them too and they may book them. Remember, some venues and vendors can book a year in advance and once they are booked they may not take on any other bookings for that date. Solution? Reach out to venues & vendors you are interested in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and request a consultation. A consultation is NOT a booking but it can give you the first opportunity to get the information you need and the vendor may update you if someone else is interested in the date so YOU control the option of booking or going in a different direction.
