It's POLLINATOR PALOOZA! That's right, we'll be bringing the birds and the bees (also flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, caterpillars...) to Downtown Norman on March 1, 2025 to celebrate Mardi Gras!

It's Throwback Thursday! "Come Together" was the theme of our 20th annual Norman Mardi Gras Parade in 2014. The Krewe of Bogus won the Spirit Award, (aka Best Theme,) with their wonderful Yellow Submarine and giant Blue Meanie.

Our gumbo cook-off is today! Live jazz tunes will be provided by Norman’s own Jay Wilkinson trio 🎺🎤 We hope you are all stirring up your appetite or your gumbo, we can’t wait to see you this evening!

These cooler temperatures have us VERY excited to eat some GUMBO, how about you??

Hope to see you all on Saturday at our gumbo cook-off fundraiser event!

We have gotten some inquiries and wanted to assure all our vegetarian friends out there that we WILL have an option for you! Did you know there is a “green gumbo” that can be made veggie and it’s absolutely delicious?! If you don’t eat meat we have you covered! 👍

**Also, for those with any dietary restrictions, please ask each cook about the contents of their gumbo before tasting**

It's ! Here are scenes from the very first photoshoot for the very first The Norman Transcript article about the very first Norman Mardi Gras Parade, way back in 1994!

Over 31 years have passed since then, and 30 Mardi Gras Parades (missed one due to the pandemic) but we're still getting a kick out of bringing Norman's community together for art, music and FUN!

We love that New Orleans Krewe of Freret has mask making events throughout the year! They don't just do football and masks, they also have Pizza and make making parties!

If we had a mask making party for 2025 Norman Mardi Gras Parade, would you come?
