FUN FACTS FOR THE KREWES!

Did you know that, in addition to beads, New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewes make special throws? Among the coolest and most desirable throws, the Krewe of Goddesses decorates shells, the Krewe of Freret throws masks, Krewe of Muses throws upcycled shoes, and the Krewe des Fleurs throws in the form of seed bombs and packets of seeds.

Each year, our parade begins and ends The Depot, our *In Kind* GOLD++ sponsor. Like the Norman Mardi Gras Society, they’re dedicated to building community through shared artistic experiences.

Thought the year, The Depot presents art shows, poetry readings, theatrical productions, comedy nights and live concerts. From May to August, their Summer Breeze Concert Series brings us all out for family Sundays in the park, often featuring nationally known musicians.

This beautiful space is available for community and private events. You can also catch Amtrak’s Heartland Flyer here, since it's still an actual train depot!
