Hi all! Sorry to have been out of the picture so much lately but just been busy! This time of year is kind of nutty for us here with football season, getting back to school, and holidays. Here are some recent cooks I’ve done including whole chicken, whole spare ribs, and a 5 lb chub of bologna! Good eats all around!

I had a great time judging some great bbq today at the Sugar Creek Casino Sweet & Smoky BBQ Competition. This was a sanctioned master series event through The Kansas City Barbeque Society.

We enjoyed samplings of brisket, chicken, pork, and pork ribs. The cooks endured some very hot and windy conditions today and did a great job! Congrats to the category winners and to Fire Dancer BBQ on the grand championship and Munny’s Stove for the reserve grand! .0344 points was all that separated them!

Sugar Creek was a great host and provided a great facility for a clean, cool, and comfortable environment!

Hey all! I hope you had an excellent holiday with friends and family! What an amazing time to celebrate the gift of living in the greatest country in the world! 🇺🇸🌎🗽

Sorry I’ve been absent from posts for a while. It’s been a very busy time! I included some pics below of recent cooks and welcomed a new cooker to the line up, the from Pit Barrel Cooker Co! Let me tell ya.. that thing is efficient and really packs that great smokey flavor in things!

Anybody have an interest in a well seasoned, well built smoker that is in great condition? It also has the upgraded temp gauges in the door and a metal charcoal basket in the bottom. It is extremely well built.

It retails for $800 and has another $100 in upgrades/mods. No rust on it and been covered through its life. Seeking $500 obo. I’ll deliver it within 50 miles for an additional fee.

How’s your weekend been? Oklahoma has been hot! This is always my least favorite time of year! But, it’s all the more reason to burn some charcoal, wood, and pellets!

What have you made? 🔥 pictured below are last night’s smoked then seared pork country style ribs!

Tonight is smoked then seared beef tenderloin and smoked pork baby back ribs!

To all who served and gave their lives for our nation, we owe them and their families immeasurable gratitude!

On this weekend, let us take time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and their families who also sacrificed so much.

Let us also take time to pray and promote peace in our cities, states, nation, and world. We must never allow for the sacrifices of these brave men and women to be in vain. We can agree to disagree and still care for each other!

Picked up a SnS Grills Slow N Sear from Amazon on a deal this week. I ran it for the first time today using some and Blues Hog pecan chunks on a Weber Grills kettle. Bird was brined in Meat Church BBQ bird baptism and rubbed with Butcher BBQ grilling addiction and honey rub.

Overall, I was very pleased. Roasted some Yukon gold potatoes in there too.

Rolled out some beautiful burnt ends, beef ribs, and brisket for Mother’s Day yesterday. Great meals need the best ingredients and that comes from Thunder Valley Ranch Hay & Cattle Co., Butcher BBQ rubs and injections, and Traeger Grills. Another great meal in the books!
