OU begins preparation for the football season opener tonight at 6:00 by closing off lots. Please avoid the garage and park in A5 (College Avenue, behind Catlett and Goddard Health Center). We have clearance from OU parking.

We had an amazing experience working with Dr. Frank Ticheli! He rehearsed Cajun Folk Songs from beginning to end, with tons of passion and nuance. Thanks to the OU Bands for sharing him with us during his residency this week. It’s always a joy making music with the person who created it!

Doc was such a huge advocate for community music and lifelong learning. He directed his own bands and orchestras in OKC and beyond, and was always interested in the NHB and our Norman Community Band (he attended this summer's concerts). The world lost a great human, educator, musician, and all-around friend. To all his family and friends, from the OUNHB: rest in peace, Doc. We can still hear the spoons and trombone loud and clear.

Join community choristers from all over the state this Monday evening, 7:30 pm at Crossed Cannons Brewery, 333 W. Boyd, for a rousing evening of alcohol and song. YAY BEER!
