As soon as you get engaged and start planning your wedding, lots of people start telling you what you should do, right?

Well, I don’t know what to tell you about your ceremony or your menu but I AM here to help you create a Happily Ever After party to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

So here’s #1 of my top 3 things you should never do when planning your wedding celebration.

Never expect your friends and family to set up
or (even worse!) clean up for you afterwards.

You don’t want your besties/mom/favorite aunt running around on the Day Of when they should be relaxing and soaking up the sweetness of the day with you!

And you definitely don’t want to kill the happy party vibe by telling everyone at the end of the evening, “Okay, it’s time to clean up now”, right? Ugh.

You and your guests deserve to relax and enjoy your celebration from start to finish. Just this once, hire people (like me!) to do that for you! My team and I would love to set up for you, tiptoe away to let you celebrate, and then come back later to take it all down and away. No washing dishes for you!

Follow along for #2 cuz it’s a whopper and I’ve got a great solution for you!

What do you want for YOUR elopement?

THIS: a fancy picnic for just the two of you complete with a tiny cake, maybe some charcuterie, and definitely some bubbles to toast your love?

Or THAT: a whole table set with vintage dishes and sparkling glassware + some beautiful florals so you can celebrate over a relaxing meal with your favorite people?

I love helping people celebrate in whatever way makes them happiest.

Which option suits you best?

Add some twinkle to your holiday celebration with beautiful vintage party rentals and you’ll delight your guests, elevate your event, and take your stress level down a notch (or 2 or 3!)

But I know it can be daunting just trying to figure out what you need (and don’t need!) for your table so I wrote you a guide to help you decide. It’s all based on what food and drinks you plan to serve your guests so it’s super practical.

If this sounds helpful just comment the word GUIDE and I’ll send you the link to download it for free!

What’s the #1 key to keep in mind when hosting a holiday celebration? Connection.

What? Did you think I was going to say place cards or something? 😜

Creating and renewing connections is an invaluable component of a truly successful event. It’s the whole reason I always say “Parties aren’t just fun, they’re super important!”

Easy ways to help your guests feel connected:

• greet them by name and then introduce them to each other (seems obvious, I know, but it can make a huge difference!)

• include those who may be more introverted to join in with a smaller group

• organize an ice breaker to get people interacting

• ask creative conversation starter questions to encourage everyone to share stories and ideas

While that last one may seem “scary”, I’ve seen people grow closer and make new friends based on discovering things they have in common that they might never have known about if they hadn’t been asked to go around the table and share. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

If you want more insights and ideas about the power of hospitality just comment the word Blog and I’ll send you the link to my latest blog post!

Came across these kind words in an email from a client today and it made my whole day.

What a gift to collaborate with people and help them create the celebrations of their dreams and then to serve them on the day so they can relax and enjoy every moment.

Thanks Cheyenne! 🥰

Introducing my amazing husband, Ron, who’s been my #1 supporter since the beginning and is always on board with whatever wild party idea I dream up! (In fact, this pic was taken at the beach after we cleaned up from a mini styled shoot I put together and got my family to help with— they did get to eat the food and cake from , but still!😅)

He literally does all the heavy lifting for me 💪🏽(packs the car, sets up, cleans up, washes dishes/glassware/silverware/tablecloths, you name it!) + all my Admin. 🖥️

We’ve always thrown parties together (including wedding receptions, tea parties, and fake horse races in our backyard!🐎) but my company wouldn’t exist without his help and I am so, SO grateful.

Do you want to elope AND celebrate with your friends and family? You can!

A lot of couples feel like it’s the best of both worlds and I wrote a guide to help you create your own dream elopement celebration!

Step 1. Decide on Who, What and When

Who do you want to include and in which parts of your day? Private vows followed by a gathering with your people later, share your whole day with everyone, or something in between?

What do you want to DO? Sunrise ceremony or sleep in? Adventure day or slow and relaxed?

When do you want to elope? What season will suit you best? What’s your favorite part of the day? If you crave magical ✨golden hour✨ portraits, when is sunset? (It can be as late as 9:10 pm here in the PNW!)

As you can see, there’s a lot to decide and plan (and this is only the first slide in this carousel!🤪)
which is why I wrote a guide for couples like you who want to plan their dream elopement celebration that includes some of their favorite people!

It’s full of practical tips to help you plan a day that’s ALL YOU and I’d be happy to be your elopement fairy godmother to make all this magic happen!

Yes, it’s true. The average American wedding creates about the same amount of carbon (or more!) as four people do in a YEAR!

So, how do you go about creating a greener wedding?

The best way, of course, is to work with vendors who share your values of sustainability in general and know how to incorporate those into weddings in particular. But how do you find these magical eco-conscious wedding vendors?

Well, the good news is that there’s an organization called Emerald Hour and its purpose is to inspire and empower wedding professionals to create more sustainable events.

I’m a proud member (and co-founder) and I’m thrilled to be partnering with vendors of all kinds here in the PNW to make weddings more sustainable through intentional choices, expertise, and creative techniques.

To learn more, check out my latest blog: How to have a genuinely sustainable wedding in the PNW (link in bio and Stories)

Cheers to greener weddings!

A little game of This or That can help you figure out what style feels the most like “you”, your venue, and your vibe.

Even though these two table designs feature the same rose colored glassware, ivory tablecloths, seasonal florals (from my garden + local flower farmers) and linen napkins tied with twine and a tiny fern tucked in, they have two totally different styles that fit the couples as well as the locations they chose.

I like to call the one on the top left a light, airy, romantic, garden party in the clouds. (Photo )

While the one on the lower right is a quintessential PNW mountain summer celebration with bold colors and natural elements that are earthy and elegant at the same time. (Photo .renee.photo )

Which one do you like best?

Ahhh 3 things I love about summer weddings. . .

1. Golden hour seems to go on for hours and you get to enjoy long, dreamy evenings lingering around the table with the ones you love.

2. Due to magical summer weather here in the PNW you can celebrate outdoors and enjoy the priceless experience of adding nature to your special day whether that’s in the mountains, by the water, in a forest or a lavender field like this!

3. Flowers are the Queens of Summer and you can enjoy them in endless ways: in your food and drinks, on your tables, in your hair, ALL around you — and, of course, you can have them on your dishes, silverware, linens, and even etched into your glassware!

What are your favorite things about summer weddings?

Introducing my “Magic Basket” with all kinds of useful bits and bobs I might need to help things go smoothly for you (and me!) on your big day!

It usually has tape, scissors, candles, matches, rechargeable lighter, bottle opener, twine, mask, gloves, protein bars, hand sanitizer, chapstick, Kleenex, plus my clipboard with all the details about your day!

Bonus: it can double as a cute little basket table for picnics! 😉

Chances are your planner and maybe your photographer have one too, but you might want to put together your own magic basket/box/tote/bag/whatever to have on hand!

Micro weddings and elopements are so precious to me. Three things I absolutely love are:

1. Collaborating with my couples to learn about their style and set the table to help them celebrate their love story.

2. Adding florals, candles, and other touches to elevate the whole design.

3. Providing a luxury experience that’s also relaxed so that everyone just sighs with happiness and celebrates with peace and joy.

Bonus: creating beautiful events that are also sustainable!

A little Mother’s Day throwback since I can’t be with my “kids” today. This is from a few years ago but I still love this pic because it captures the love and joy I feel whenever I’m with them.

Getting to be their mom will forever be one of the greatest joys of my life.

Not only do I love and enjoy them, I like and respect them, and I’m so proud of the grown up human beings they’ve become!

To M&J (aka Dreadful and Horrible😜) I’m SO happy I get to be your mom! I love you forever! 😊☺️🥰🤗
