As a Manifestor in Human design and with my Yoga Nidra practice, along with my dreamwork I have really come to realize just how important and essential rest truly is.

As a Manifestor I am learning to respect my need for rest. To honor slowing down and pausing, allowing myself to be with myself, to recharge and to be available to new creative urges!

Developing with my growing and evolving Yoga Nidra and dreamwork practices it has become so clear that if I am not well rested I may be missing out on inner guidance and important messages. I loose access to that lovely dreamy liminal space. In this space is where I can reconnect with myself and my infinite possibilities. In this space I can shift into solution mode, my creative mode, my most patient, loving, and compassionate mode.

When you choose rest you are choosing yourself! Without adequate rest you are unable to fully show up for yourself or others.

Remember that in order to choose others we also need to care for and choose ourselves

This is why I share dreamwork, to encourage and raise awareness on the importance of dreaming, of the imagination, and of story.

In this day and age so many easily discard their dreams, imagination, stories and myths.

We often look for guidance and answers outside of ourselves. When we learn to reconnect with these powerful gifts is when we begin to again thrive.

When we reconnect we are able to follow our internal compass and navigation systems. We are able to hear the whispers from Ancestors and the Land. When we reconnect we can again open ourselves up to the liminal space and the imaginal realms and all the wonderous possibilities!

"In modern society, we have very little respect for the imagination. The word “imaginary” is often used derogatorily, synonymous with “fantasy” and “make-believe.” For many, the word “myth” has come to mean a lie. If a grown person spends time in the world of imagination, they may be called dreamy or seen as having their head in the clouds. But the truth is that a person of imagination who values their dreaming life, and makes time for contemplation, or reads myths and listens to stories, is more deeply connected to and considerate of the world, because they are tapping into the eternal patterns of Wisdom."

As the days grow darker and colder, as we begin to transition into this new season, it’s easy to feel weighed down by tension, stress, and obligations.

This season, make yourself a priority—release, unwind, and reconnect.

A lot of time when people first approach me about dreamwork they tell me that they don't dream, or just don't remember them.

If you are experiencing something similar here are 3 steps you can easily take to reclaim your dreams!

1. First off, in order to dream well, we need to also be sleeping well. If we can begin to cultivate a night time routine for ourselves we can then begin opening up space to invite in our dreams. Slowing down and being intentional, setting an intention for the night can set us up for a night of dreaming.
Also avoiding things like caffeine, sugar, alcohol, or even screen time before bed can boost our dream recall.

2. Journaling! If you aren't already keeping a dream journal, start! Or if you might have fallen off the wagon on the practice of journaling take this as an opportunity to re dedicate yourself. Keep your journal or a voice recorder nearby and ready for you. Upon waking notice your feelings and write them down. Doing just this alone even with little to no dream recall can help further you on your dream recall. Write down anything else that comes back, even the smallest fragments can prove to be big messages! Also, don't forget to title your dreams, there is power in naming things. Don't worry if it's not just right, you can always go back and update a more fitting title.

3. Create a Dream Mantra.
If you don't do anything with your dreams this could be one of the reasons they have gone away. They want you to be present, to be open, to pay attention and to take some form of action to honor and work with them.
One of my favorite ways of carrying the energy of a dream forward is to come up with a mantra. One that holds the energy of the dream and that I can use and revisit. When we show up and work with with our dreams we get more. If we don't they might go dormant until we do. Show up for your dreams and they will show up for you.

Lastly, share your dreams!
This is one of the easiest and most effective ways to invite dreaming into your life. Journal, record, and share your dream reports with other dreamers.

It’s time to recharge and come back to yourself.

Do you find yourself so easily giving your time and energy away to others?

Yet you find it difficult to set time aside for yourself and self-care?
Allow yourself a moment to slow down.
A moment to pause, to step away from all the stimuli in our everyday lives.
A moment to bring attention to your breath, your body. A moment to come back home to yourself.

The practice of yoga nidra can help us find inner calm and balance. It can help us to quiet the inner mind and just be. When is the last time you allowed yourself to just be as you truly are? To slow down and be fully present?

What if you embraced your need for rest? What if you knew slowing down and pausing was PRODUCTIVE. Imagine, a well-rested you.
