Agrostemma, aka the cosmos of the springtime ✨

Fun fact: my husband calls agrostemma the photoshop flower because in photos they look so unreal. And he’s right, they do sometimes look fake in photos!

We’ll be growing these in white, light pink and purple this year and using them in lots and lots of bouquets :)

Getting photos back from our summer weddings is like a gift day for us. We are also picking up flowers today for the Chisago Lakes wedding expo ( ) this Saturday, and getting to work with flowers is also a gift. When we pick up flowers, we usually stop at our favorite restaurant, India Palace. So really, today is just a big gift.

Brb while we play with flowers, eat Indian food, and SWOON over Hannah and Steve’s big day 🥹✨🤍.

Literally woke up dreaming of agrostemma, one of my (Sydney) favorite flowers, but I couldn’t find a good picture of it. Instead I found this one of bells, which happens to be one of Ruby’s favorite flowers! 💚 We cannot even begin to tell you how excited we are for this coming growing season. So many changes with our field and business, but all for the good of flowers ✨.

We hope everyone has been having such a wonderful holiday season! While we’ve been relaxing with our family, we also have been crop planning for 2025 and talking to lots of couples about their big day next year! 💒 2025 is going to be full of so much beauty. We are so excited for all the new trends and vibes of wedding work, and the new look for our fields that we’re planning 😎! Feeling the need for some color on the feed 🧡. I think I can speak for both of us when I say we STILL aren’t over this magical spring-filled wedding. Spring might be our favorite time for flowers!

We get a lot of couples looking for beautiful and stylish flowers but with budgets that prevent them from working with a lot of florists who have minimums. And listen, we TOTALLY understand why florists do this; the booking and planning process can be extensive and require a lot of time. However, when we were brides, we didn’t have $5,000-$10,000 to spend on fresh flowers.

From day one we were both adamant about not ever setting wedding minimums. And while we’re still not setting minimums on full service, we are now offering a la carte collections. These collections are designed to accommodate some of the most common color palettes and offer the most requested wedding items while simultaneously alleviating some of the booking and planning for us. These collections are perfect for the couple who has a theme but aren’t picky about specific flower choices. All collection items are designers choice, meaning aside from choosing your bouquet style, we will make everything using what’s available and in season — no special requests. Not only does this streamline the planning process for us, it allows you to book all your own items and see pricing from the start. No back and forth.

Of course there’s still some interaction with us, but we’re hoping with collections that we’ll be able to create for more couples who value quality, sustainable florals but may be getting priced out elsewhere.

And one last, important thing to note is the vulnerability that comes with openly sharing pricing. We price to account for the local ingredients we like to use. A la carte isn’t a budget version of June and Jane; it’s exactly the same quality of florals and designing with a more streamlined booking process. We’re sure you can find florists who work for less, and undoubtedly some for more. This is where we’re at right now.

It is OUR GIRL Ruby’s BIRTHDAY TODAY y’all!!!! Truly the brains behind our business. Ruby brings talent, skills, creativity, and knowledge to our company. She pays attention to all the details, and cares about every bride that comes through our inbox. And she just so happens to be my cousin and bff 🙃. June and Jane wouldn’t be the same without her 🫶🏽. We don’t really introduce ourselves on our Instagram that much, so here are a couple fun things you might not know about Ruby…

It’s hard to stress how big of a difference shopping small this holiday season can be for a local business. We feel lucky everyday to wake up and be able to do something challenging and creative that brings joy to so many people. One of the biggest aspects of our small business is working with the kids and them being able to see how hard work pays off. It’s not always the easiest or most productive, but it’s so rewarding to observe and watch the kids absorb what’s going on around them, whether it’s about seed starting, software or soil health.
