Snacking on a Whole New Level
Welcome to the Gilded Graze! I’m glad you’re here. My name is Julie Stowers, and I am the founder of The Gilded Graze. I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, an animal lover, and a creator of serious snacks. I love to host gatherings from book club evenings, to birthday parties, to wine nights with my girlfriends and everything in between. Making people feel special and well cared for is deeply ingrained into my psyche. The path that led to The Gilded Graze has been a long and windy one, but really it’s a homecoming to my roots in the Culinary Arts.
My love for cooking and entertaining was complimented by an education in both Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage Management. In what seems like a lifetime ago, I even owned a popular little Italian restaurant on James Island called That’s Amore. Creating grazing boards has reinvigorated my passion for food and has been an extremely fulfilling endeavor on both personally and professionally.
The name The Gilded Graze was inspired by my affection for the phrase “to gild the lily”, in other words to take something beautiful, such as a lily and to dip it in gold. This concept is exactly my approach to food, especially in the ‘grazing’ style of eating. I love to elevate my boards from something good into something extraordinary; and maybe even a tad unexpected. Every single one of my creations is a full expression of who I am.
