The 5th annual Harvest Moon Yoga Festival offers a unique festival experience in a natural setting. A secluded farm, nestled in the Baraboo Range.

In this setting, yogis can participate in yoga, live music, restorative conversations, meditation and more!

Beloved HMY Community,

I first want to express my deep gratitude for you all. This community helped cultivate such sacred connection, healing, love, growth, fun, transformation and laughter. Thank you for trusting me to host and hold space for you at this healing event. One of my biggest intentions was to create a safe space, that you could pause in the beauty around you to come back to your home within. To be able to come back to your truest self and feel connected again. So you could move forward stronger and from a place of love. This is something I was blessed to witness many times, year after year. I pray that you received what you needed at that time in your life.

I’m endlessly thankful for the really special community, talented loving teachers and musicians, and the volunteers over the 5 HMY festivals ! I also want to thank and acknowledge my family. They witnessed this idea manifest and grow over the last 8 years. They showed up day after day with love, support and fresh perspective to always keep me moving forward. They were there every step along the way, often times behind the scenes. My family not only graciously opened up our little slice of heaven to share with others, but they deeply cared for the event and all who were apart of it. They made sure everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and at home while staying at our farm. They really poured their love and energy to help create this event over the years, and it shows. I am forever grateful for their perpetual support over the years, HMY would not have become what it was without them.

This is all so bittersweet, as HMY and all its legacy is coming to an end, I am comforted by knowing that the memories, friendships & connections made will live on forever. HMY will always be in my heart and soul. I remain a dreamer, continuously inspired, following the direction of curiosity, joy, love, and simplicity.

My heart is being called to something else currently. I’m not quite sure all the answers right now, but I do know it is time to surrender to the mystery of life. As this door closes, I know another will surely open. Until then, you can find me contently living and enjoying life, all of it.

I send you each a hug, and deep gratitude. I hope you continue to follow the glimmers of all that brings you joy and happiness in this life.

It is with a heavy heart that I post this today... The HMY Festival will not be happening this year. Due to unforeseen personal life circumstances I have decided to not host the HMY Festival. This decision was a very hard choice for me, and still feels very bittersweet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although this decision was incredibly tough, I know in my heart it is the right choice. Choosing myself does not come easy or naturally for me. Neither does slowing down. Life has granted me some major lessons this year, helping me to slow down and prioritize family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am hopeful that taking this year off will help rejuvenate me right down to my soul. Then hopefully, I'll be able to come back next year to hold so much space and love for the HMY community. I will keep you all posted when I know in my heart that it is right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

On this beautiful morning we are pleased to announce that Dar Vander Hoop will be joining us at HMY Festival this year!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Dar Vander Hoop has a background spanning five decades of yoga practice and studies; drawing from multiple styles.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After her B.S. (with honors) from U.W Madison in Movement Therapy,Darlene performed/taught Modern Dance in San Francisco and N.Y.C, but soon discovered the brilliance of yoga, while casually attending Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class one fateful afternoon in 1977. She went on studying with various masters including Alan Finger at Yoga-Ta**ra Institute, where she taught her first classes in 1979. She studied with Swami Bua, Dharma Mitra, and Senior Iyengar teachers in NY, and was soon exploring all that LA offered in the early 80’s including courses with Kundalini Yoga founder Yogi Bhajan, Paul Grilley, and teachers at the Larchmont Center for Yoga. Dar earned a 50-hour Yin certificate from Bernie Clarke, and 45-hour certificate in Mindfulness Meditation with Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Mudras and Vagus Nerve courses with Jennifer Reis. Currently, she studies somatic-oriented yoga with Tias Little. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Dar has taught in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico; and all over the U.S.A. presenting her powerful “Hot Yoga” with humor and expertise, and her Yin Aroma Immersions.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Currently, she is training teachers in Yin Yoga.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A senior teacher for 20 years at Inner Fire Yoga, Madison, Wisconsin she’s developed many workshops and master classes and a Yin Teacher Training. Dar enjoys⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kirtan, and attending yoga festivals, often presenting at Bhaktifest and retreating at the Omega⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As someone who dreams around the clock it struck something in me. While I don’t let my dreaming interrupt making memories it may sometimes disrupt my enjoying of the present moment… After pondering this, it re-established deep gratitude for all the little moments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Read a little about Jennifer below.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jennifer Goodman is a deeply dedicated yoga teacher and practitioner as well as a former professional ballet dancer. Her love of yoga began through the physical movement and connection to breath and deepened through her exploration of the transformational & healing realms of yoga. Jennifer received her 200 & 300 hour certifications, as well as advanced & master trainings in Kriya, Meditation, Pranayama, Mantra, Ta**ra, Sufi, and Laya practices in India with Kia Miller & Anand Mehrotra. She has also received certifications in Hot Power Yoga, Yin & Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Bhakti Yoga & Kirtan. Jennifer likes to incorporate these practices and combine various techniques within each class to challenge the mind and body, and create a balanced, healing, and transformational experience within. She also brings her passion for dance and music into her classes with a challenging, creative, and fluid approach, focusing on flexibility, strength, balance, and moving with the breath. Jennifer loves offering these practices in person and online in classes, courses, workshops, festivals, yoga teacher trainings, kirtan, and yoga retreats around the world! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s actually very simple…

Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for all the other relationships that you have in your life 💗

If you’re not prioritizing the relationship you have with yourself, then chances are you may be having some struggles when it comes to other connections/relationships in your life.

In what ways do you take time to connect with yourself? Pay attention to what you need or enjoy? How do you show self respect?💗

Our views, feelings and actions directly stem from the thoughts in our brain, and our own happiness within.

It’s time to stop believing that our happiness is the result of some outside source (especially when it comes to our relationships)…when the truth is, that we hold all the power to create & maintain every relationship we’d like to have in our lives.

But it all starts from the work within…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our ability to truly connect with ourselves helps strengthen and build more authentic connections around us.

So before giving into hopelessness or settling for a subpar life, really reflect on your relationship with yourself & how that may be projecting on other areas of your life ❤️

Thank you to all the beautiful souls who joined us in community at HMY Festival this year. It was an incredible weekend of presence, ease, surrender, joy, connection, and rest✨ My heart is full and happy as the event still slowly integrates into my being❤️

Year after year y’all show up in the most beautiful way and it is truly magical 💫 It is such a gift to be a part of this community. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! My heart will patiently wait until next year when we get to gather again rain or shine. I look forward to sharing beautiful memories captured in photos throughout the coming time.
