This year for @ispycherrypie Halloween baking contest I wanted to try elegant over whimsical with this shimmering bat cake! โ

Layers of rich black cocoa chocolate cake filled with blackberry ganache and blackberry reduction, covered in vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. The outside was hand painted and adorned with pointillism frosted bats. It was topped with a hand crafted floral wreath and lace bat. โ
โThe chocolate cupcakes were topped with white chocolate skulls filled with a dreamy peanut butter mousse. โ
I always enjoy coming up with new ideas and challenging myself for this yearly competition. It was so much fun, and I canโt wait until next year! โ

I was honored to be asked to make a cake for the 2024 CT Business Womens Forum, a dynamic leadership conference for women. It was such a great event highlighted by so many remarkable women and woman-owned businesses! The cake was displayed and used as part of the raffle prizes.
I used the event logo to inspire the design and added it as an edible image to the top. I had so much fun with the paint splatters and loved the navy and gold color combination! ๐โญ๏ธ
