For this year’s Springfield Museums Festival of Flowers event on view through Sunday April 7th, I interpreted a painting by Helen Frankenthaler . Frankenthaler has been a favorite artist of mine since my college days studying painting—and creating a piece to complement hers was a huge honor.

Flowers are innately full of movement and it was important to me to honor the varied nature of the botanical materials I work with—so I purposely chose a large variety of flowers to create depth and dimension with color as a contrast to her use of flat color to celebrate my medium.

I strive to work in as sustainable of a way as possible—thus this piece was created using foam-free design techniques

AND a huge thank you to Kendyll .and.wane.design who works with me at Forest Flowers and was a huge support in the completion of this design. Plus to Forest who attended the opening event with me ❤️.

✨NEW WORKSHOP ALERT: Sun March 24th✨ We’re thrilled to announce we’re hosting an Everlasting Terrarium Cloche WORKSHOP on Sunday, March 24th from 1-3pm here at Forest Flowers! We’ll make our signature Terrarium Cloches together with a colorful array of everlasting/preserved grasses & botanicals of your choosing while making new friends and sipping wine🍷👩🏻‍🎨❤️🧑🏼‍🎨. Marisa Filippone, Forest Flowers Owner & Head Designer will lead this workshop, teaching you how to build a terrarium cloche while we fine tune color palettes & composition to make this keepsake piece!
