“The Five” that made The Grand whole in 2024. Long post but please read.

Vulnerable moment:
I am not going to sit here and act like I had it all together this year at The Grand Event as our household grew with the addition of Tete’s babies (my 3 nieces). There was a lot of adjustment, therapy was necessary for EVERYBODY, and just trying to find balance. I was stressed, depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed all the while trying to lead a team at The Grand who needed me too.

My creativity waned, my time with the team was rare and I found my business on the negative side of some conversations. And though I wanted to fight back, some of them were RIGHT!!! And ya’ll know I don’t like that. AT ALL!

So one day I rolled out of bed, put my feet on the ground with confidence and said… it’s time for Shannel SHANNEL to come back. (Insert Kendrick Lamar lyrics 😜)

And the best part of my “comeback” is that it’s these tiny humans that got me to remember my value. Not as a mom. Not as a Tete. Not as a wife. Not as an entrepreneur. But as MF SHANNEL RENAE!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

And EVEN THOUGH my year started very differently than planned, we STILL managed to grow our business about 25% over last year. We STILL managed to add new team members. We STILL managed to do over 400 events. And those babies…1 is going into the gifted program, 3 Honor Rolls students, Star Students, cheer champions, and the smallest one just got promoted to counting flatware bags 😂. Look at God 🙌🏾.

Don’t get me wrong, the entrepreneur in me won’t ever be still but my Team deserves a rest and reset as we celebrate a tremendous year of growth and strength. So as we take a little break to end the year, catch us on our website and socials. To be honest, I don’t think YA’LL are ready for us in 2025. Its a whole new Grand mindset friends. And everyone is on board 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

And on this the 9th day (or 4th day) I want to shout out our mini drape queen Avery Renae (just slide over to see how she started 🥰)

One of the amazing things that we’ll be introducing is a dedicated draping and lighting team 👏🏽. The Drape Squad (title still pending) will spend the first of the year in dedicated draping and lighting classes and courses to expand on what we already know to help expand on our expertise and offerings. While they learn and grow, Mrs. Grand aka Shannel will be sources new fabrics, new pieces, and new designs. Look out folks, the Grand just got Grander!!

11 days away and I must shout out the classic beauty if our modern Ivory loveseat and chairs. Its the fact you can leave it be or add color in pillows and accents. Very Versatile. Very Classic. Very Grand. 🤗

I don’t care what anyone says, the gold chiavari chair is the ONLY chair that has TRULY withstood the test of time. (Cue scene from and if you don’t know don’t say I didn’t warn you. Homie wanted them gold chiavaris BAD 😂)

Did you know the original chiavari was created in 1807 in Chiavari, Italy by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi. Although much more detailed back then, as times moved forward the chair became more modernized and more easily assembled which leads to the chair we see today. 🤗
