Design ideas and creative blends abound in this intimate garden, which is a collaboration between Bridgeport-based Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs and distinguished Dutch garden designer Jacqueline van der Kloet. The Mark Twain Library is hopping you’ll attend the 2023 Frog Frolic in Redding on Saturday, May 6th from 10-4. Named for Twain’s famous short story, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County,” this fun-filled outdoor family festival is tailored for kids from 3 to 103. Sit back and listen to music, bid on a silent auction item, enjoy great food (frog’s legs?), play games, make crafts, jump in the bounce houses, romp in the bubble garden and more! Bridgeport is percolating with artists, organizations and community partners gathered together for the 14th Annual Bridgeport Art Trail today, Saturday 11/12 and tomorrow Sunday, 11/13, where visitors can meander between the Reads Ground Floor Gallery on Broad Street and the Arcade Mall next door, viewing four art exhibits, listen to live music and enjoy lite bites. Today, you can rock out to Classic Rock and Blues Hall of Famers, “The Name Droppers,” (band members performed with James Cotton, Johnny Winter and Charlie Karp, bass player for Jimi Hendrix...hence, the Name Droppers.) Other live performances include the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, Punk Rock, busker-style music at the NEST Arts Factory and the Alternate Routes at Metro Art Studio. The weekend celebration closes out on Sunday at the Bijou Theatre, with a night of PechaKucha storytelling and the Crabby Cabaret.
