Nothing quite like a weekend full of live music + love with some of my favorite people, in a crowd full of people singing and dancing. Just good for the soul, especially knowing that somewhere out in the crowd the winners of the blind date ticket giveaway were connecting and having a great time! Being a Matchmaker is like riding a rollercoaster. High highs with messages from clients like, “Jill, you nailed it. I think she’s the one.” to low lows navigating disappointments with clients who were hopeful for a 2nd or 3rd date and the other party just wasn’t feeling it.

There is SO MUCH work that goes in behind the scenes from curating my weekly Singles Sparks newsletter (get on it at www.Jillinit.com) to planning events to screening hundreds of singles each month to match with clients to check-in calls with hopeful clients, recruiting, screening and vetting potential matches for clients, collaborating with other matchmakers to find matches for their clients and mine to calls with my own coach and mentors, matchmaking conferences and zooms, staying alive on social, returning new client calls, I mean, it really goes on and on and on.

Sounds exhausting. Right? But truly I have never in my life been more inspired and fulfilled. I am so grateful to be able to be a part of your love life. It’s such an honor.

So thanks for being a part of it. Thanks for sending your friends my way. Thanks for trusting in me and inspiring me. I do not take it for granted.

So on this National Matchmakers Day (yes that’s a thing) I want to give a shout out to the incredible Matchmakers I have met and collaborated with over the last year since I joined the Matchmaker’s Alliance. What a gift.

THROWBACK to that time I got s**t on by a bird but managed to keep on smiling and actually find the silver lining and purpose in it. (Really needed a good laugh that day.) Ah, the parallel in this to DATING is SO REAL. You’re going to get s**t on (hopefully not literally) when you’re putting yourself out there and dating. You just are. But no experience or time is wasted. There are NO BAD DATES. No wasted connections. They are all exactly what they’re meant to be. We can’t dwell and give up a perfectly good beach day just because we get s**t on, friends. Just like we can’t waste a perfectly good life because we got s**t on or disappointed by a date or mate. It’s all relative. Wipe it off, FEEL IT but always keep it movin’. Focus on what’s good. Focus on what you learned and how you expanded in your experience and be bold enough to open up again. One of these days, one of these dates will land juuuuuust right. Promise. xo
