Todayâs OâFallon Holiday Parade was nothing short of an adventure. With snow coming down hard, I had to rethink my entire setup on the fly. My fancy gear stayed tucked away (because soaking my EV speakers and XDJ-RX3 wasnât about to happen), so I busted out my very first Mackie speakers and my little mixer from 2014. Yeah, itâs small and feels like a toy now, but heyâitâs not about the tools; itâs about the vibe you bring.
I threw up tarp walls to protect my setup, practiced in my little snow fort, and then said, âLetâs just go for it.â By the time the float rolled out, the snow didnât matterâit was all about the music and the energy of the crowd. Sometimes, obstacles arenât there to stop youâtheyâre just a reminder that youâve got everything you need to keep going. Today, it wasnât about perfection; it was about heart. And letâs be realâŠit was also about keeping it cool. đ§
