Hi there! I’m Ashley.
As we step into the new year, I’d like to formally reintroduce myself. Having reached the one-year mark since launching Mountain Ash, there’s been lots of change and growth in this brief span. I’d love to share a glimpse into my first year in the world of floristry.
A year in, I realize how much I underestimated the power of community. I often express it, and I’ll continue to do so-the Steamboat community is truly unmatched. I want to express my gratitude to every individual I’ve encountered, exchanged ideas with, received guidance from, collaborated with, and created alongside over the past year. Each connection I’ve gained adds another person sharing my journey.
Embarking on this venture, I had little idea of what to expect. I simply wanted the creative freedom of working with flowers and sharing that passion with others. Now, as we mark a year, I reflect on the unexpected opportunities and growth, not just as a florist but as a new business owner. It wasn’t until my first wedding last fall that I had the courage to say out loud, “I am a florist.” I think this on its own shares the personal and professional progress during my first year.
There’s still so much to learn and build upon, and I acknowledge that this is just the start of a big adventure. Thank you to everyone in the local wedding/event industry I’ve crossed paths with-your stories and achievements have been and will continue to be an inspiration. I am excited for another year of connecting with more industry professionals, creating opportunities for learning and growth, and the excitement of upcoming summer weddings.
