This Mother’s Day, I tríaled a Bouquet of the Month club for the moms of Woodland! I had a blast getting to meet people’s moms, and I learned what systems I need to put in place to do it bigger and better next year.

Here are some examples of some of the bouquets that went out the past 6 months! I would say over 75% of the bouquets were made up of locally grown flowers. So, not only were you supporting me and my small business, you also supported local agriculture 👏

I am hoping next year at least 50% of the bouquets will be flowers I grew and 50% sourced from local farms. That’s a wrap for this year. Thank you!!

What do you see?

Do you ever catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirror or a window and think, “Damn! I look gooood!” Or “Yikes, I look terrible!”? I’ve thought many things about myself over the years in various mirrors in various places. I’d say the percentage of positive/negative thoughts leaned heavily on the negative.

I think it’s interesting to notice the different types of chatter over the years and how it changes. Some seasons feel better than others. Some seasons, I’d like to get back to because I felt like I was shining so brightly.

Today, as I was carrying a bucket of eucalyptus into the house, I caught a reflection of myself in the front door, and I felt a little surprised by the woman standing there.

She looked content and comfortable in her soft floral print overalls, her hair pinned quickly up in a clip, a bucket of eucalyptus on her hip where a baby once used to sit.

I may not feel at my very best right now, I may have more questions than answers. Sometimes I may feel lost and sometimes I may feel found. I may still have a huge mountain to climb, but right now…in this moment, I feel content with myself.

The woman looking back at me has gray hair, and she’s finding she kinda likes it.

I think this feeling of contentment with my reflection feels luxurious and almost naughty. I can’t possibly feel content with myself!

It’s one of those tiny moments that deserves to become a bigger moment and to take up more space. We don’t talk enough about the peace that comes when you can find contentment with the person looking back at you.

I didn’t take a picture, because it doesn’t matter.

I felt warm and fuzzy inside because I’ve never called myself that, and I kinda liked it

Today, I was reminded by a friend that I am indeed an artist and I shouldn’t “if, and or but” around it.
