Meet the newbie farmers!
Hi, I’m Catherine (aka Cat). I have been a Cape May county resident my whole life, and proud to be! I was born in the same hospital I now work in as a nurse. I have been at Cape Regional Medical Center for 25 years. My Grandmother (Memom to me) was a flower farmer and use to provide many hotels on our shore lines with beautiful bouquets of cut flowers. Unfortunately, these are just stories I have been told. She passed away when I was too young to be taught her insider tips and tricks to a bountiful harvest. So, I’m going it the hard way, trial and error! I look forward to seeing my own personal growth, and I hope you all will enjoy watching our farm stand grow along the way.
My husband, Bruce (aka Will) has been an Upper Township resident since his childhood. He is an Ocean City graduate, like our daughter Ava. He has been a canine officer for New Jersey State corrections for nearly 25 years. (As you can see, when we commit to a job, we are in it for the long haul) Will also grew up on a farm. His mother’s family were produce farmers in Cumberland County. Whenever he is asked about his family or childhood his memories go straight to the farm. It’s where he learned how to drive, first on a tractor and then on to the farms pickup truck. His fondness for his time in his family fields made it an easy sell for me when I told him I wanted to have a farm-stand.
The stand (well, it’s a trailer for now) is now open!
Open as long as there is something to sell. It will be mostly unattended with an honor box and QR codes for payment.
