I started this as a fun side hobby, being a diesel mechanic working on big rigs and oil tankers. Having taken CAD modeling courses in high school, I would tinker with the 3D printer and make little things like replacement air conditioner k***s for Peterbilts to save the shop money. One day while under a semi, I broke my left hand, separating the ulna and carpal bone and ended up limited to light d
uty jobs. In the middle of house payments and the craziness of egg prices, it was time for a second source of income. I bought my first printer and began learning to sculpt articulated figures, and better fine-tuned my knowledge of Blender- after which I nearly obsessively started giving prints away to everyone I knew. Adding this hobby as a side business, and then adding 6 more printers and effectively building a print farm, my family has started helping me with painting and finishing- Ultimately filling all our dreams of starting a small business. Being in my late 30’s, I like to create bits of art that bring nostalgia, and that warm the old memories back up. Prints and models that remind us of times and places we’ve been, people we’ve known- movies and vintage characters as well as the most random bits of beautiful art.
