This month’s Red Dirt Writes takes place on Tuesday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Literati Press in the Paseo. Kat Wooldridge will lead the workshop on how to let your feelings flow through movement. Bring your notebook and favorite writing utensil. 📝
Workshop Deets: Explore poetry through movement to get your realest feelings out of your head and on paper. We will explore the use of environment, movement, and other stimulus to let the creativity flow! Wear comfy clothes, and bring some water. *Note for accessibility: Movement will NOT be required for this workshop. There will be times that attendees are encouraged to get up and move, but everything can be modified to your comfort level.* 🚶🏽
Kat is a poet, teacher, and activist born and raised in Oklahoma. They began writing poetry at age 13 as a way to cope with the challenges of growing up. Now they write to share their experiences and spread awareness about issues that matter to them. Their work encompasses topics like mental health, queerness, domestic violence, and disability justice. They hope others can find solace in their work, like they find in other’s work everyday. 👩🏻🏫
