Food Poetry 🌽☕️🍗🍰

Food can carry memory, comfort, longing, and even grief. A dish can remind us of someone we’ve lost, a place we’ve left, or a version of ourselves we’ve outgrown, but it can also represent celebration, care, or survival. In this free writing workshop, we’ll read some published poems about food and then write one of our own food poems. 📝

Jason Stephenson taught middle school and high school English classes for thirteen years. A past president of the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English, he is an Oklahoma Writing project teacher consultant. Jason is a Red Dirt Poetry board member and serves on the leadership team for the OKC Story Slam. He is a Libby ambassador

Storytelling in Poetry: Prose Poems 📝

L. Sahara McGirt practices writing in many forms, from game reviews to short stories and poetry. They spend their free time with Red Dirt, playing video games, having adventures, or hanging out with their coven online. 🎮
