We closed out the regular season last night at the Kansas Wrestling Center.

Although Super Breed continues to dominate the EKYWL DI field, the race for second WAS CLOSE!!!!

All American, Silent Warriors, Tropic Lightning & Standard Bearers all finished with a 4-3 record. All-American earns coveted EKYWL singlet (courtesy of Mustang Bilby). Only 18 points separated 2nd from 5th, meaning only 3 x wins throughout the entire season made the difference between 2nd and 5th! Wow.... What a close race and amazing season!!!

We closed out the regular season last night at the Kansas Wrestling Center.

Division II came down to the final matches with Iron Men, Smash, and Crushers all completing the season with a 5-2 record.

12 points separated Iron Men from Smash, while only 6 points separated Smash from the Crushers. What a close race and amazing season!!!

Division I will have two matches tonight. The first at 6:00 PM. The second at 7:30.

Division 2 (K-5th Grade) will only have one match tonight:

1) Grit vs. Wranglers (6:00 on mat 5)
2) Scorpions vs. Funk (6:00 on Mat 6)
3) Iron Men vs. Smash (7:30 on Mat 5)
4) Crushers vs. Scrappers (7:30 on Mat 6)

We are still looking for a few fill ins. If there is an open position tonight, we will figure out a way to get in exhibition matches at a minimum!

Next week is the last week of our league - Friday - February 26th, is the last regular season match up.

Sunday - February 28th, will be the championship dual for the top 2 teams in each division at "The Barn" in Paola.

However, there are still opportunities to wrestle!!

There is a new tournament coming to the Kansas Wrestling Center on 2/28/2021.....The Novice Championship is usually held in Derby, Kansas but will be held in Olathe at the Kansas Wrestling Center this year.

It is open for FIRST YEAR WRESTLERS only and provides a great way for our less experienced athletes to get in some extra mat time.

Here are the tentative rosters for league duals this Friday night. Reminder, Division I (6th - 8th Grade) will have only one dual this week, so please pay attention to the time your team is scheduled to wrestle. Super Breed, Tropic Lightning, Silent Warriors, & All American will wrestle at 6:00 PM. Standard Bearers, Old Ironsides, Screaming Eagles, & Fighting First will wrestle at 7:30PM

Division II will wrestle as normal - 2 x duals this week. Doors open at 5:15 PM. Start time for the first dual is 6:00 PM. Second dual will start at 7:30 PM.

Next week is the final week of the league. The top two teams in each division will wrestle in the championship on 2/28/2021!

Anyone wrestling in this Friday's EKYWL who is ALSO wrestling in the Supreme Showdown this weekend needs to be at the Kansas Wrestling Center at 5:15 to weigh in for the Supreme Tournament. EKYWL Wrestlers will have priority weigh ins from 5:15-5:45 (before the normal Supreme weigh ins start at 6).

It could be a little crazy this Friday night, so arrive early so we can start duals on time at 6:00. Thanks

All, Please help spread the word.....the Division II (K-5th Grade) duals originally scheduled for this week will be postponed until February 26th. Division I (6th - 8th Grade) will continue this Friday as planned.

This change is due to the Supreme Showdown duals weigh ins and set up this Friday. We want to ensure that we adhere to capacity limits and not overcrowd the facility this week.

So - NO DIVISION 2 this Friday.....the February 12th duals are pushed to February 26th.

Division 1 will continue as planned.
