Festival of Lights and Parade. 2024

A successful event for sure. However, setting up lights in 22 degrees was downright brutal. You can see my breath! And, I was taking my gloves on and off while plugging in smaller lights while trying to stay warm. Ugh.
I’ve NEVER been a fan of competing with prominent street lights, but this was for a good cause, so… off we go.

*Sporting some old school Par64 300w stage lighting cans. These are the heavy, big guns, from back when. The lights I learned on.
One massive light bulb and a color gel.
1 light…1 color. Unless you changed the gel.
I still have these because they work no matter what.
I tossed in the new school LED fun stuff for effect!
This was the first fest where we realized magical, fairies are born.

A 12 foot high shed surrounded by 120’ King pines.
No date needed because this can happen any given day of the week.
The optical illusions lights produce are endless.
Monster faces.
Castle doors.
10 piece Ska bands like BAD COMBO. No illusion there.

Sometimes you have to climb the trees so you can hang lights and nuke the grassy dance floor!
