Might want to get the hanky out for this one.

At the end of 2020, a young woman reached out to me to purchase LOTS of gift cards for her friends and coworkers.

When she came to pick them up, I was instantly drawn to her bright, sunny personality, her beautiful smile and her big heart. It's such a joy for me to meet people like her and it's my favorite part of operating this business.

Then, this spring another woman emailed me to tell me how she discovered our farm - through the gift cards that her friend (the woman who purchased the gift cards) had given her.

When I got to the end of the email, I was stunned. That bright, beautiful, sunny woman who I met in 2020... She passed away in January of 2022 after a brutal battle with cancer.

But to this day, she is still blessing her friends and loved ones with her gift of beauty and joy.

Her name was Caitlin.

In my Dahlia field, I grow this variety that happens to be called "Caitlin's Joy"... and when I harvest them, I always pause and give thanks for the legacy of love she left behind. I feel deep joy and sorrow, all wrapped up in each other.

The "Caitlin's Joy" Dahlias are healthy, vigorous and thriving. They bring joy and delight to so many people. ❤️

I think Caitlin would love that.
