With consumer confidence the lowest it has been in five years, rising inflation, high travel costs, and low numbers at trials across the nation, we are hitting the pause button for this year.

Our plan is to get all set up for next year, so we may have a great trial. We simply cannot pay several thousands of dollars to put on a trial without help. We have not had enough dogs to cover the cost of putting on a trial, and so we have had to personally shoulder those costs.

We cannot do it this year.

We will be having a fundraiser in the relatively near future, and hope to have a fun day as well. You can catch us at a small dog event in September, in Long Beach.

If you would like to help us with hosting the trial for next year (we always need bodies!), we have secured our dates with the JRTCA. Those will be July 25-26, 2026.

We’ll see you next year!

Our 2025 trial will be July 26 and 27. Our goal with this is to avoid conflicting with STP (7/12-13) and the summer specialty shows, offering you another fun weekend with your dogs!

I am thinking of performing targeted fundraising to purchase a BAER machine. Why? I received the following message from my vet office who performs this test.

“Good morning! Apologies, the first puppy cost is roughly 287$ and then every additional puppy is roughly 138$ in cost, it is not 300-480 per dog. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!”

If we were able to offer affordable BAER testing on Fridays ahead of our trials, is this something of which you you avail yourselves? $839 to perform baseline testing for a litter of five pups seems outrageously excessive. I really want to make it easy for everyone to do appropriate testing.

PS, the reversal of the price quotes totally puts my teeth on edge, too.
