Tacoma Trail Cruisers We promote Dirt bike & ATV trail riding to foster sportsmanship, influence the protection of wildlife and forest conservation.

We volunteer 3000+ hours each year maintaining the trail system and hold the Smuggler Run. The club incorporated as the Tacoma Trail Cruisers (TTC) in 1964 with 68 charter members. Active riders varied in age from pre-teen to folks in their seventies. Part of the original credo was to put more back into environment and community than they took away. With that credo in mind, TTC has became involved

with community affairs such as spending thousands of hours assisting Pierce County Search and Rescue, assisting with the Daffodil Parade and helping with Walk-a-thon and Ride-a-thon charity events. Every year a group of the young members formed an ATV demonstration team that toured Pierce county and conducted seminars. The team stressed rider safety and environmental awareness to fifth graders during annual school campouts. The club was the first and only motorcycle club that volunteered to assist with the first statewide "Earth clean-up day" On that day and every year since, the club has cleaned up litter along the roads in Capitol Forest area. The club has volunteered many man-hours to various local and DNR causes, including the Fish and Game Department in planting fish in mountain lakes. So, in 1972, TTC purchased the small ten acre parcel of land that belonged to the Sloan family- early settlers of the Sherman Valley. On the property sat an old barn that had been used as family feed and milking barn. Upon purchase, members got together and cleaned out the hay and the farm equipment that was left behind. Then TTC had a old fashion barn dance! The club immediately held this get-acquainted event at which all their country neighbors were invited so neighbors could see TTC was not a hoodlum motorcycle gang moving into their area. The barn became a landmark in our community and a real source of pride for TTC. In 1973, the club started holding its annual "Smuggler Poker Run" to generate funds to pay for the property and improvements. Once the property was paid for the club continued holding this popular event. It has become the premier ATV event in the Pacific Northwest, attracting riders from various states. The difference in recent years, however is that much of the proceeds are donated to various area charities such as the Black Lake and the Little Rock Fire Departments, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and the American Red Cross.

Holy work party, Braap Fam!! This is the last one before Capitol Forest opens! 💥

Join the Tacoma Trail Cruisers this Saturday, April 19th for one final push—we’re finishing the gravel pack-in on Sawdust and we need all hands on deck. We’re looking for 6 quads with a 2" ball hitch to haul gravel, plus a crew of tough-as-nails shovelers to help spread it 💪.

No more work parties until after the 4th of July—so if you’ve been meaning to pitch in, this is the one to show up for! Bring your quad (or dirt bike and a strong back), and let’s finish this job the TTC way 💪🔥.

We will be doing the second half of the gravel pack-in on Sawdust. We will need 6 quads with a 2 inch ball hitch to haul the gravel. And we'll need folks with strong hands to shovel the gravel. Sign-up is at 8am and we will be leaving the property at 9am sharp! So bring your quad with a ball hitch (or dirt bike if you'll help shovel) and let's gooooooo! 🤙

Braap Fam! Our next work party is this Saturday, April 5th. We will not be hauling rock this weekend – its just riding the trails and checking for any downed timber. As always, sign-up is at 8am and we will be leaving the property at 9am sharp! So bring your 2 or 4 wheel chariot and let's gooooooo!

Hey There BRAAP FAM!!! Lots going on this weekend. 💥

On Saturday 3/22, Tacoma Trail Cruisers and Washington ATV Association will fill parts of the trails with gravel. 💪 We will meet up at 8am at the TTC Club property for signups and will head out by 9am. You MUST have a bike or quad, gravel rakes and shovels needed. If you plan on pulling a trailer, you'll need a 2" ball hitch. We will need at least 8 quads to pull trailers and others to spread the gravel. If the trails are too muddy, we will do a normal work party clearing trails.

After the work party, join us for our St. Patty's social! ☘
Following the work party at 3pm we will have corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes provided by the club. If you would like to bring an appetizer or dessert to share please do so. Depending on weather ☀️🌧 we will probably host this in the shelter.

Holy work party, Batman! 🦇 Come on out this upcoming Saturday March 8th for the next work party where we'll be finishing up North Rim. Sign up will be between 8:00-9:00am and we will be leaving the Club property at 9am SHARP. Its going to be a rainy one so bring your rain jackets and prepare to get a little wet. You'll need to bring a bike or quad--but for this wet weather, a quad will be better.

We will also have a work party on Saturday March 22nd. More info to come on the section we'll be clearing.

Work Party! Work Party! Yes, I said it twice! This Saturday 2/22, we need able bodied folks for our 2 work party groups.

Group 1) Trail Clearing: We'll meet up at Rock Candy Mountain Trailhead and ride over to North Rim #1 to clear trails. There's still a ton of snow and ice out there so please plan on riding a quad. Anyone who wants to clear trails, meet at Rock Candy Mountain Trailhead at 8:30am. You MUST have a Discovery permit to park there.

Group 2) Wood Cutting: Meet at the TTC property between 8am-9am for sign up. This group will focus on cutting wood for the property.

Hey BRAAP Fam! Calling all abled bodied folk for Tacoma Trail Cruisers' next Capitol Forest Trail Maintenance Work Party this Saturday, January 25, 2025. Sign up will be between 8:00-9:00am and we will be leaving the Club property at 9am SHARP. We will be clearing trails so you'll need your own bike or quad - No walk in’s.
There's a TON of work to do before the trails open on May 1st so we hope to see you this Saturday.

HAPPY NEW YEAR BRAAP FAM!!!! First Work Party of 2025 this Saturday!
We hope you all had very Merry Christmas and absolutely SENT IT on New Years!
While Santa is sprayin sand in the dunes, we TTC Elves have much work to do to get the trails ready for the upcoming riding season. THIS SATURDAY JANUARY 11TH will be our first work party of the year! Come on down to the TTC property in Capitol Forest to lend us a hand.

Guess what Braap Fam?… Its about that time for our first Work Party of the Fall! The Capitol Forest riding trails take a beating, so for the next 2 weekends we'll be filling in the ruts on Sawdust with Geoweb and gravel. All able bodies folks are welcome to join - you must have your own bike or quad to get to the trail.

Tacoma Trail Cruiser club member Arin Roberts would like to invite all of you out there to join the LeMay Ribbon Ride this Saturday, August 17th to support LeMay employees who have been impacted by cancer. Check out the flyer for details.

Thank you all so much for participating in the 49th Smuggler Poker Run. It was truly our pleasure to host this this event for the BRAAP Fam!
