Highlights from yesterday. Nokosee Fields and Friends play the dance tonight, and then onto two-stepping to the Cajun tunes of Les Coeurs Criminels!

Tonight’s concert lineup features the Nokosee Fields Trio, from Lafayette, LA. Nokosee is an award-winning fiddler and multi-instrumentalist. Carrying a longstanding tradition of Cherokee fiddling into the present, he lovingly and playfully reimagines the tradition with immense skill and sensitivity. Fellow musicians Reed Stutz and Ryan Nickerson will bring the full stringband sound to close out the three-part concert.

Thrilled to feature the west coast debut of “There She Goes”, the duo of Amelia Powell and Annika Brooks. Amelia comes from a deep rooted Cajun background in Southwest Louisiana. She has played locally and internationally in many bands and recorded on several albums including those of her band Amis Du Teche, Rhiannon Giddens, and with her father and mother, Dirk Powell and Christine Balfa. She has a rich musical background on both sides of her family, which can be heard in her powerful voice and unique guitar style. Annika grew up in the Old Time community in the Northwest, and has lived and played music all over the country while attending college for environmental science and sustainability. Her love of the rich music community she has been apart of has shaped who she is as a musician and as a person, and her love of music and life brings joy to all who hear her play.
