I'll admit, I'm not as good at giving back as I should be, but I'm trying to get better.

Yesterday I volunteered with a networking group I'm part of to help Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA) prepare for their upcoming Blue Jeans & Dreams event on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

If you're not familiar with HETRA, their mission is, "To improve the quality of life both physically and emotionally of adults and children of all ability levels through equine-assisted activities." You can find more information on their website, https://hetra.org.

The picture of the poster is from the stable of a horse who passed and the notes people left for "Leroy." It definitely give you an idea of HETRA's impact.

Every business has important moments and events to memorialize and share. I wasn't planning to photograph GPS Bank's Ribbon Cutting but had my camera in the car and was able to take a few pictures for them at the opening of their new Lakeside location with the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce, West O Chamber, and Greater Omaha Chamber.

Nothing means more to a small business than repeat customers. CWS 2024 was year #2 for me to shoot Bat Around at their booth!

They made a few changes to the batting cage experience. If you get a chance, check them out. They might just be at a Major League Ballpark near you!

Referrals are extremely important for small businesses. A referral from an old friend connected me with someone from Australia holding an event in Omaha. This led to a new client and a chance to meet and photograph a lot of new people!

Hello Friends! If you're headed down to the College World Series, be sure to check out the booth of one of my clients, Bat Around.

I shot for them at their CWS product launch last year. If you saw them then, they've made a few changes!

If you're not familiar, they've gamified batting cages. You really need to check it out, especially if you have a baseball or softball player!

They are in the northeast corner of the Diamond Room building north of the Old Mattress factory.

An important PSA for us men and the men in our lives.

I am a Testicular Cancer survivor. When I was diagnosed in 2012 I thought my symptoms were something else and got diagnosed months later than I could have.

Could I have avoided months of chemo if I had known how to do a self exam and gotten diagnosed sooner? I don’t know, maybe. I would have loved to have avoided chemo.

Guys, check your boys. Ladies, please share this with the men in your life and encourage them to do monthly checks.

Testicular cancer is the leading cancer in men 15-44, although it can strike any age from infancy to elderly, yet it’s hardly talked about.

Every hour male is diagnosed.

Every day a life is lost in the United States alone.

If detected early, it’s 95% curable.

Awareness and early detection are key!

Today is the day!!

This isn't really a new start. It's more of an evolution but today is the BIG announcement and the OFFICIAL launch of Cory Jensen Photography.

Cory Jensen Photography is the evolution of Nebraska Sports Photography, a company I started a while ago with the goal of capturing sports action photos for parents who were busy cheering on their athlete and not thinking about taking pictures.

This was a product of watching my boys play baseball and taking thousands of pictures of them. Now, as they're becoming young men, I look back on those photos remembering the boys they used to be. I also had a lot of baseball parents ask me to shoot their athlete, and have been hired to shoot football, volleyball, baseball, basketball, color guard, cross country, and pole vault.

I've also been hired to shoot a product launch at a vendor booth at the College World Series. These photos have since been used in numerous social media posts to promote this new product.

I've even been hired to shoot two events for a local church, a 50th Anniversary Beerfest and a 50th Anniversary Dinner, with a makeshift photobooth.

It was a nice little side-gig, a change from my normal day-to-day, and an opportunity to do something I've loved to do for decades, take pictures.

Then, life threw me a curveball that turned into an opportunity to make this side-gig into full-time business.

As much as I loved the name, Nebraska Sports Photography, I wanted to expand my offerings beyond sports, so Cory Jensen Photography was born.

Under this new name I'll focus on corporate photography, including corporate events to help document and provide content for social media posts and other marketing efforts.

Don't worry, I'll continue capturing your sports (youth action) photography memories including team and individual photos and catching your kids in action.
