🍽️ Role at AOF: Server
🍽️ What inspired your journey in the food industry?
“ My granddaughter, Kaylee, was employed with AOF and thought I would like it. My daughter, Amanda, also started working with us so it was a family affair.”
🍽️ Who would you call your mentor?
“ I would consider Rosemary and all of the event managers as mentors as they are all very knowledgeable.”
🍽️ What is your favorite cuisine/dish?
“Champagne Chicken is my favorite and all of the desserts.”
🍽️ What do you do when you are not working at AOF?
“I work on jigsaw puzzles, go to estate sales, go on mystery tour bus trips, go to the casino, and spend time with my family.”
🍽️ What do you love most about AOF?
"I love working with all of the AOF staff, going to different venues, and doing all types of events. My most memorable event was working with Roy Porter from California at the Joslyn Art Museum."

Veggies don't have to be boring!

When doing stations, one of our favorite options to have vegetables available for guests is with our Vegetable Carving Station! This station features a wide variety of vegetables that's carved lived in front of guests (or pre-carved) and served with an assortment of oils, vinegars, and salts!

Our November employee spotlight takes us to our logistics department...meet Ricardo Martinez!

🍽️ Role at AOF: Logistics Inventory & Acquisition Specialist

🍽️ What inspired your journey in the food industry?
“ You know those U-shaped staircases, with a landing between the 1st and 2nd floor? If the 1st floor is my past and the 2nd floor is my future, the food industry would be what occupies the landing. It’s between where I came from and where I’m trying to go.”

🍽️ Who would you call your mentor?
“Matt and Michel were my AOF mentors. They weren’t just my mentors when it came to my role in logistics, they were also my mentors when it came to observing their humility while in their role as leaders. But I truly believe that there is something to learn from everyone, so in a way I believe I am a mentee to all those around me in one way or another.”

🍽️ What is your favorite cuisine/dish?
“Donny made a bacon, egg, and cheese once like 3 years ago that I still think about to this day.”

🍽️ What do you do when you are not working at AOF?
“I hang out at home mostly, with my fiancé and 2 cats. I have a ton of fountain pens that I enjoy writing with every day in my journal. I try to hang out with friends and family when I can. And sometimes I listen to ambient music and ask myself existential questions.”

🍽️ What do you love most about AOF?
“The thing I love the most about AOF is the people that I work with. I work with some very talented, funny, kind, and wholesome people. I always juxtapose this job with my other ones that were borderline dystopian, and I gain a further appreciation for it and the people within. I don’t feel dread when I wake up and think about work, I feel excited given that I get to come to work and hang out with awesome people.”

We are so excited for our September employee spotlight - meet Karmin, our Director of Sales!

🍽️ What inspired your journey in the food industry?
"My journey in the industry didn't start so much in the catering world, but just in events in general. I have always been a planner at heart and being able to be a part of every event from the very beginning until all of the clean up is over, is so special to me. I love to sit back and watch the small interactions between guests, staff, other industry professionals, and everyone in between to see everyone truly enjoying their time together."

🍽️ Who would you call your mentor?
"The catering community is unique in that you may be someone's competition one day, but the next week you are working together to pull off a big event. I am always looking to my colleagues, other local industry professionals, and caterers across the country for insights and opportunities to grow personally and professionally."

🍽️ What is your favorite cuisine/dish?
"Being part of AOF is so fun because who doesn't love food?! My favorites change with the seasons, but I will always be a sucker for anything Rebekah and the pastry team makes! There is nothing like a hot cinnamon roll straight out of the oven!"

🍽️ What do you do when you're not working at AOF?
"I try to soak up all of the time I can get with my kids when I'm not working! Time is such a thief, so these years of them being so young are not something I want to take for granted!"

🍽️ What do you love most about AOF?
"I truly love so much about this company. The people, the standards that we hold ourselves to, and the true love and passion that goes into each event from every department is something very special and not taken lightly!"

🍽️ We had the privilege of catering a wonderful event in our community last night! Bringing people together with delicious food and great company is what we love to do, and this event was a perfect example of that.

🌟 We want to thank our amazing team who went above and beyond with preparation, ex*****on, and service! A huge thank you to the vendors and colleagues we were fortunate to collaborate with. We are grateful to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community!
