We are so excited to kickoff our Spring Season with 3 events in 7 days (2 proms and an FFA banquet)! The students from Cissna Park have been diligently decorating for their prom tomorrow night! We hope they get a grand sunset like this one last night, as they dance the night away!

We have a new member out here at The Barn, and we thought you all would want to meet her! Everyone, this is our newest edition to our herd, Miss Isabella! She is only three weeks old, and we are still bottle feeding her twice a day!

Isabella loves sunbathing, bottle time, and she is very excited to meet all of you! However, she has informed us that she would like some sister friends! So, that being said, if any of you out there know of anyone with a couple bottle calves looking for a nice cozy place to live! Please message us! If not, please share this post so we can find Miss Isabella some sisters!

Our first snow of the year! We just love the glow of the snow through the lights of the barn! We were hoping Meteorologist Jacob Dickey would be right with the prediction of some strong snow squalls! Snow on Halloween means Christmas season starts tomorrow! (At least in our house it does!)

If you haven't been, Cissna Park Old Setters Reunion is one of the oldest town festivals in the state! They have live entertainment every night, a whole carnival with games and those great carnival foods, as well as a food stand with nightly specials! A truly great place to spend an evening with the kiddos and even win a brand-new car!! August 17, 18, 19!

Some evenings we get a few minutes of free time to just bask in the charm of our quiet, cozy, and dreamy property! Last night we had an absolutely stunning golden hour. It was one of those evenings where you just wish you had a wedding and a beautiful bride and groom taking pictures on the lawn with the glowing sunset in the background! So just imagine your guests - enjoying cocktails, the laughter of the kiddos playing around the gazebo, and the shutter clicks of your photographer’s camera as you get your dream sunset pictures!

When it comes time, your wedding venue is much more than the place you said your vows and danced the night away. The couples we get the privilege to work with are family to us! Watching our brides become mothers is one of our favorite transitions! Lucy Arseneau and Ryan reached out to come back for their maternity shoot and we haven’t been so excited! People always ask us “Do you really enjoy hosting events and weddings on your weekends?” We always answer with “Absolutely! We couldn’t imagine doing anything else!” Every season we grow more and more excited and attached to all the wonderful people we get the privilege to work with-and this season that really rings true. We got to kick off our 2023 season with two of the most exciting proms and a dreamy wedding for such a sweet and wonderful couple! Here’s a little photo montage of all the fun we’ve been having the last few weeks! THANK YOU to Cissna Park and Iroquois West schools for choosing us for your proms-the staff, parents and students were absolutely amazing to work with! THANK YOU to Colton and Kylie Sloan for entrusting us with your most special day! To say we loved working with you and your beautiful families would be an understatement! We have so many truly AMAZING couples to work with this season and we couldn’t be more excited! Here’s to a wonderful and exciting 2023 season!

We are so sorry we haven’t posted in a minute, we have been working every second of our free time on a huge project in the second floor of the barn. We have wanted to put a new floor in the loft since we purchased the barn. Well, we now have a solid cedar floor in the hayloft! This process took a little extra time but is something that we can be proud of for so many years to come! We were able to use Mollys dads sawmill, and make each and every board out of reclaimed cedar power poles! Check out the pictures and let us know what you think! We think it turned out great!!

As we get closer and closer to warm weather we are itching to get out and make our landscape better! We finally got the John Deere Model A back out on display! It still needs some paint touch-up work, and the landscape rock under it, but man we are excited to see the pictures she brings to life!

Some days we truly can’t believe this big beautiful barn was built in the 1870’s. We often tell people, “come out and we will give you a tour!” We love showing off her stunning beams, pictures dont do this breathtaking place justice, neither does a nice video, but it’s closer! So, embrace her beauty, picture your happiest day, at the top of the stairs entering your wedding ceremony or your wedding reception, and let us know how we can show you “Unconfined Happiness” in a setting perfectly the way you’ve always dreamt it would be!
