I got my front porch wreaths situated. I wasn't loving what I threw together the other day and decided to DIY these wreaths. They're made from some native verbena and baby's breath that I dried. ( My closet has become a drying station for florals as I look ahead to fall). I gave the wreaths a spritz of white spray paint to brighten them up for the summer. (But leaving them as is would be perfect for fall!) How-to in stories if you want to check it out. 🙂
A very real view of the kitchen....stuff on the counters, a few dishes, and of course a couple of flower arrangements for someone because and that's most often the case around here. Mentally, keeping the counters clear makes me feel better, but in reality, we all usually use the island as a drop zone. 🤷
I'm still super happy with the color choices in here...the warm taupes and warm whites paired with blue. It's a nice contrast to my old home where I leaned into stark whites and grays for quite a while. I was ready for warmer, cozier, richer tones, and some COLOR.
Looking back over the years, my style has evolved and changed A LOT, but I think that's just a natural progression of styles changing and also, getting to know yourself better and starting to really pay attention to what really makes your heart sing. For me, that's vintage and antique pieces that tell a story, one-of-a-kind treasures from estate sales, thrift stores, and flea markets mixed with some new, fresh items sprinkled in.
My advice? Pay attention to what you're naturally drawn to when shopping for your home. What do you gravitate towards? Regardless of trends, use those things in YOUR home 🏠. That's the best way to make it feel like you, and make it a haven you want to be in.
🇺🇸I've started prepping for Fourth of July and adding some patriotic touches. For me, Independence Day is the highlight of the summer!
🇺🇸 I'm taking a vacation week next week starting Monday, July 1st, so no Bouquet Club or additional orders.

🌻 Good morning! This morning, I've harvested so many gorgeous sunflowers! These are pollenless with pretty green centers. If you'd like a straight sunflower bunch this week, let me know. Straight bunches are $10 each and pickup only or I can bring to Southern Style or Wild Daisy on Wednesday with Bouquet Club orders.

Open shelving..... I absolutely love it BUT I always struggle with how to style them and not look cluttered. I've spent the morning tweaking ours as I wait for a flower delivery 🚚 (that was supposed to be be by 11am but still hasn't arrived 🤷) for a special event this weekend. Anywho, are you team open shelves or team upper cabinets? Or maybe a combination of the two?

I'm STILL figuring out where to put things in our new home (I unpacked three more boxes and am still debating where to put it all ),and how to style the built-in plate rack wall and open shelves in my kitchen. Still not 100% happy with it, but I'll keep playing with it until it feels right.
Also, I'm still on the search for the right fabric to cover the washer and dryer with so it's not visible from the kitchen. I'm really drawn to block prints right now and am leaning towards that if I can find the right one. Question is, do I want to stick with a blue accent color or do I want a fabric that'll bring in more colors? I don't know. I usually know when I see it. Are you like that? Searching for the right thing for a space and then when you see it, you just know it's THE perfect thing? I love when that happens. ☺️
I'm *hoping* to get more mulching done in our new landscaping over the holiday weekend around some flower orders and a Petal Party. We'll see how far I get.

My advice? Use the pretty dishes. Burn the candles. Bring flowers into your home. Maybe even stick some flowers in your hair 😉. Life is too short not to enjoy what God has given us. Unpacking takes forever! On one hand, it's really fun because you discover what's been in storage for the last year and it's kind of like Christmas. 😂 I'm taking my time getting things unpacked and put away and we still haven't completely moved our things in, but making progress!
When finalizing our house plan, the master bath was one area I focused on. I wanted it to have ample space with a double vanity and freestanding tub with a separate shower. It feels surreal that it's finally done and it was so fun to see what was in my head become a reality! #masterbathdesign #newoldhome #newbuild #masterbathroomdesign
Over the years, I've thrifted some absolute treasures for our home. I think it helps to make a home more unique and interesting when you cherry pick items that truly speak to you rather than follow trends. Here are some of my tips: 💞GO OFTEN-- Thrifting is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Now that you just read that in Forrest Gump's voice, I'll tell you that thrifting is definitely hit or miss but the more often you can pop in for a quick perusal, the more likely you'll snag worthwhile items. 💞HAVE A RUNNING LIST OF WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR-- This will help you to not leave items behind that you may have needed. 💞KEEP MEASUREMENTS WITH YOU -- Keep measurements for items or areas in your home and a small tape measure with you so if you do find something, you don't have to wonder if it'll fit your space. 💞LEAVE THE JUNK BEHIND -- Don't buys things just because they're inexpensive. Junk is junk and clutter is clutter. Thrift high quality items in good condition and leave behind the cheaply made, slow fashion, and thing not in perfect condition.
