This, by far, is probably one of the biggest and most important choices and aspects of any event, especially a wedding. It can also be the most difficult as there are so many venues to choose from.
A few things I always advise my clients of when looking at venues:

🔸️Availability (and if you are flexible)
🔸️Amenities and requirements
🔸️Aesthetic and feel...(this one!)
I emphasize aesthetic and feel because it's so important that you connect with the venue itself. The history, the architecture; honestly something as simple as what the colors of the walls and the carpeting or floor may be, and lighting and little extras to add to your design.

Considering visiting each table during your reception? For traditional and cultural events, this is expected. It's a matter of respect. But even if it's not something that you are culturally or traditionally expected to do, if it's something that you are considering, it's so crucial that you work with a planner. This can take quite some time out of your reception. When you work with a professional planner, they're able to create a timeline that accommodates this. Not only that accommodates this, but that can make sure that everything else in your timeline is executed properly, while ensuring that your guests are still being entertained and things can run smoothly throughout the evening.

Post wedding blues. It is real. And it is tough. And it is rarely discussed 💙
As a planner, I spend months if not sometimes years, planning and cultivating a relationship and trust with my couples. I hope that these relationships can continue after their wedding, but there is always a little bit of let down when I watch them leave during their grand exit.
And brides? Couples? All of the years that they have spent planning. Details, Pinterest boards, it can be so overwhelming and so time-consuming and then it is done. There is going to be quite a let down and a bit of the blues for these individuals.
Be kind to yourself. Know that it's okay to feel this way. Take some time for yourself either directly after the wedding or after the honeymoon.
