Saturday was our Open Studio, and I want to thank everyone who stopped by! It’s always nice to welcome you to The Craft Table, and it warms my heart hearing how much you love being here! I didn’t take any pictures (I really need to figure out a way to remember to do that) so I took a selfie after everyone left. (Notice how I’m holding my stitching upside down 🙃 🙄😜)?!

I told everyone that I would have my stitching on this project finished by the weekend, and I did!!! It was difficult to stop as I wanted to keep on stitching, but it had never been my intention to stitch every object. The panel is gorgeous by itself and I just wanted to add some texture. It’s hard to know when enough is enough though, right?!

Swipe to see a picture of the pillow I made as well as some closeups so you can see the stitching detail. I think the pillow looks nice on my stitching chair. The colors match my blue velvet chairs at home too so we will see where it ends up.

Actually I am thinking of stitching another panel and framing it to hang at home. Any interest in a low key summer stitch along? Leave me a comment if you might be game.

With an artistic eye and lifetime love of crafts, Rene' Martinez began quilting in 2004 and soon discovered a new passion. She was delighted to find herself in the middle of a new movement and a welcoming community of like-minded creatives. In 2010, she was encouraged to found the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild and still serves on the board. And now, Rene' has opened the doors of her new heartfelt creation, The Craft Table, as a way to share her inspiration and joy with others.

There’s no experience required, only the desire to have fun. All-inclusive workshops and open craft nights weave strangers into new friends around the cozy, namesake table that inspires new skills in quilting, embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, macrame, Lino printing, hand lettering, and more.
