While La Niña typically brings cooler, wetter conditions to some regions, it can bring increased dryness to others. Currently, Ecuador is experiencing tough conditions that affect its floriculture industry. Roses are heavily dependent on stable weather conditions to maintain consistent production.

Cooler temperatures and steady rainfall in Columbia’s Antioquia’s climate is ideal for growing hydrangeas. However, La Niña is also impacting this area. La Niña is creating water-logged soils that can harm delicate flowers like carnations, chrysanthemums, and hydrangeas. This excess moisture may lead to root rot or fungal diseases that weaken plants and decrease the quality of the flower.

We are keeping close tabs on this issue and will be sure to update you should any of these conditions affect your orders.
