The Wedding Of Your Dreams

The property is just simply, magical.

When I first walked around the property I felt something very spiritual…a connection like no other telling me let’s do this, you got this. While the house was being remodeled I went thru some personal hard times and transformations. This house was there every step of the way. In sad mornings, massive monarch butterflies would swarm the windows telling me, “get up, you were meant to fly”. In the back of the house a rose tree that seem dead would bloom with red roses that would last 30 days after being cut and put in a vase. I knew this was the connection I had been looking for. A place that could serve as the connection between 2 Hearts. Did you know an octopus has 3 hearts? 2 of the hearts feed a main one. This is also very symbolic as a final piece in the evolution of a wedding venue where 2 hearts become 1.

I feel one of the musts of every relationship is to travel. Travel to leave behind the echoes of love.

So, I took everything I had collected in life and without coping anything, I adjusted it to what was inside of my heart by expressing it in a barn in the property and within every room of the house. Okto was born and will keep evolving with the goal to create a place where everyone can celebrate love as ONE. A place were everyone can be a Wanderlust Okto.

Where did this idea come from?

For whatever reason since I was a kid, I was in love with the idea of …LOVE. I don’t know why. Still to this day it is one of life’s greatest mysteries to me. Love. Why do people love and how can we as humans can achieve to live life just by experiencing nothing but love? The pursuit of love as wrong as that idea seems drove me. As a kid, I spent my summers in Paterson New Jersey where my mom was from. My aunt and uncle owned a wedding dress shop. That along with seeing my dad putting events together for his graduating classes sparked something in me that would be a part of all the dots that connect Okto. As time went by I picked up yet another skill. Remodeling, decorating and creating spaces that are just unique. I don’t sleep much so my mind just goes. I channeled that energy best by building things. I traveled a lot and thru my travels I collected not only things, but ideas, memories and love. Love for nature and the energy that comes not just from living things but those things that at one point belonged to others. Artifacts carry an energy thru them and they too want to end in a place of love. Doing multiple things at once was an octopus like skill that defined everything I did. There is the Okto part along with connection of 2 hearts into one. I had felt this before. The unstoppable connection of 2 hearts into one. But what word could accompany Okto in a journey that was not meant to be taken apart. The word that would connect it all together would come with this thought “An octopus can’t survive in land but a wanderlust one could”. Sometimes life doesn’t work out as we expected. Life takes us in a path that can make us feel as if maybe some of us are just mean to have, just a taste. It’s an everyday battle to make things work. It is a wanderlust path and for those who fight thru the hard times, for those who can get pass the bad times because it is so much easier to live in the good ones. Let me give you some advice, go home, go a month of travel, speak another language, kiss on the street, cross the earth for each other, fight with a thousand lions, do anything for each other, even swim with sharks. If you feel the same way, Wanderlust Okto was born for you. It fills me to see those who move forward and take that leap. It takes 2 hearts. My desire to create a place that calls for leaving behind the echoes of love had to be turned into something tangible.
