So- we made marzipan fruits. They’re not perfect, but we did it! 🍊🎄This was in addition to our usual Christmas cookie baking madness. It’s that kind of Christmas. It’s that kind of year. Maybe we’re overcompensating but sometimes you just need something tiny to focus on when the world feels too big. I mean, just look at the way Ionie is looking at those little gems. Totally worth it. 🎄 There are elves among us! ❤️ Winter break is finally here and the Christmas preparations are in full swing. The tree is decorated. Jake taught Keira how to curl ribbon to decorate the presents. Next we’ll be baking cookies. Everyone has a favorite kind, so they’ll be dozens, I’m sure! It’s such a joy to have a break from Launch Ed. School has been a total nightmare this year and it’s good to be able to reset and just spend time together as a family. 🎁

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸 💥 It’s been stormy here so we may miss out on fireworks but that hasn’t slowed the excitement at our house. In between sparklers, smoke bombs and launching confetti cannons the kids are eating popsicles and watching The Right Stuff for the first time. 👩‍🚀 🚀 Stay safe and have fun tonight everyone! 🇺🇸

🌴Weekend beach trips are a family favorite around here, but if you ask the kids and kitties, more often than not, they happen last minute. 🌅 In our rush to get out of town, we tend to forget things.. sometimes it's a toothbrush, or leaving on a light or two for security. Recently we started using smart lighting and now we can control our interior and exterior lights while we’re gone. You can set them to mimic your presence while you're gone and to come on when you approach your home. Which means we’ll never come home to a dark house. It's such a weight off our minds to have that added layer of security. Who wants to worry while you're away enjoying family time? Not us! Let the kitties do that! 💡

🌿We met the one and only at the today. He was so generous with his time and we loved getting the opportunity to see his new body of work; Clyde Butcher; Vision’s of Dali’s Spain.
Jake was really interested in hearing him talk and getting to meet him- maybe we have a future photographer here?😉📷 .
It is was fascinating to see how Butcher captured the beauty and spirit of the places Dali had incorporated into his paintings in the same stunning black and white as his famous Florida landscapes. ☀️🐜 @ The Dali Museum

🌿Jake at Eleven. 💚 Eleven years around the sun. ☀️This (like every age) is the best age. It’s as though Jake’s on the cusp of something... no longer a little boy but not a man yet either. (Still not a teen even though he sometimes looks like one.) 😎 We catch glimpses of his future self sometimes as we watch him grow. It’s truly a joy to witness. 🌈😍 Powered by determination and rainbows. 🌈💪Keira’s trying out roller skates and she LOVES them. She said she will “practice, practice, practice”, until she can skate really well. Her approach is great; she’s laughing and having fun without getting discouraged about the hard work. So far, she can stand up on her own and slowly wiggle along with help from one of us. Next stop; roller derby! 🏆🌈 😍 🏳️‍🌈 🌈 💗💜💟
