Check this out! A new research program for those with Parkinson's Disease!
A new study investigating virtual group singing for persons Parkinson’s disease is now starting.
Persons with Parkinson’s disease will be invited to participate in a weekly singing group for 16 weeks.
You may attend the singing group in-person in Ames, Iowa or virtual at a local ISU Extension and Outreach office in Mitchell or Union county, or from home.
Data collection of voice and respiratory measures, as well as questionnaires will be completed before starting the
singing group and every 8 weeks until the end of the study. To participate, you must have a diagnosis of PD, be between 50 and 85 years of age, and have no changes in PD medication for
30 days prior to the first study visit. Further screening for eligibility will also occur during the first study visit.
