DIY Unicorn like spit

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been posting much but babies keeps you busy, especially such a cutie like my Melody! Anyway...excuse the mess haha! I have been seeing unicorn spit projects every where and have been dying to try them but lack the cash! So! I have made my own version of it! Took a few tries to get it right but I am getting it down! I took an old gate my boyfriend Taylor made in about 5 minutes out of a pallet so there was room for error since I have never done this before and tested my DIY stains on it and I think it came out pretty funky and I had a lot of fun doing it. I also didn't sand very much so old paint and drippings from my learning curve can be noticed but oh well, we live & we learn! To make the stains all you need is nontoxic acrylic paint, water & white vinegar to help the color saturate the wood! I filled about a quarter of a 2.5 oz baby food jar with the paint added 2 table spoons white vinegar and filled the rest with water and stirred well. To make a gel you would use lets say olive oil and pectin as an emulsifier to bind the oil water and vinegar,which I am going to try next because gels would be much easier to work with. I'll let ya' know when I try it! On the funkier side of the gate I used a medicine dropper to apply the stain and let it set in on top of the wood to set it then swiped and marbled some of the colors and let them set over night without swiping and BAM! super vibrant marbled look. I want to try tie dye next! The other side I hand painted and slightly blended some of the colors with my fingers and there you have it! Now to finish it with an epoxy resin coat!
